This is the same type of thread as the other one like L.Sooch made, but is for the Western conference. I stole it from the other forum aswell.

In this pile of free agents I think we should persue the help of the following players:

    Jon Barry
    Brian Cardinal
    Travis Best
And try the best we can at getting Carlos Arroyo, though it's unlikely.

These players can help our team out drastically, giving us veteran leadership and young talent with potential.

What about you guys? Here's the link

You want veteran leadership?? For that I'd say Avery Johnson of the Golden State warriors is our best bet in fact I remember a while ago someone offered or was going to offer him a coaching job, cant remember who though. Avery Johnson would be a great mentor for young (point) gaurds on the 'Cats like Bernard Robinson. I think Bickerstaff is building a defensive minded team because we got Okafor, Robinson, Kapono and Sampson. I've seen those guys play and they're all good if not great at defense.

The other guys we should pursue are: Darius Miles of Portland, Ansu Sesay of the Sonics, and Mikki Moore and Maurice Williams of Utah. If we got our hands on DMiles we would have another high flyer that has amazing potential and Sesay is very underrated. Moore has shown he can play D and has had glimpses of being possible an above average player but by no means a star and finally last but not least Maurice Williams was easily the sleeper of last years draft he can do it all he should have been an earlier pick and it doesnt matter if he's a restricted free agent his team already has Arroyo(most likely to re-sign), and Raul Lopez.

We want veteran leadership from a guy that can still ball... I don't think Avery Johnson can still provide the assistance by coming of the bench and providing for us. I love his leadership too, but I'd much rather see him in the front office than on the court.

Darius Miles has potential but I don't think he would reach it here in Charlotte, not a good choice, he has a bad attitude aswell. Sesay would be good, but I don't see us signing him because nobody knows his potential, we'd be taking a risk with him.
