Yow, that's pretty high. If I were Joe Dumars I probably wouldn't match that considering Detroit has to resign Rasheed. There's just too much salaracy cap space out there this year, inflating all the prices.

I can not believe Okur would sign with another team for $500,000 more per year. I hope his reasoning is so he can start at center. Good luck to him. BTW, no sense in signing Okur when he have Foyle back.

Maybe he's playing starting power forward? If Utah's Curtis Borchardt gets healthy he'd be the primary center I'd guess. I still think Borchardt could be a top 10 center if healthy. He can defend, he can rebound, he can pass, and he can shoot. Actually, no, maybe he'd be power forward since he's lighter in weight and may not be able to use any post skills because of his weight. Think a way more skilled Raef La Frentz.

Larry Brown didn't like his game, and he didn't get as much playing time as expected. Since he's a restricted FA, Detroit can still match.

As far as Okur's motives, Utah offers a lot more room for growth and playing time. Utah's main problem was the middle and he could start at either position. Utah is also committed to playing its young guys, and Okur will have tons of minutes guaranteed there, essentially. I wonder how they'll juggle AK and Harpring in the lineup?

I guess maybe Raja Bell has to start this year at guard because he shown a lot of folks he's got skills as a starter.
