Bowen, SJ, Swift, Skinner, or Clark & K. WIllis for ass coach? Hello I am new to this board. However I am the master of posting at the wiz forum at www.extremeskins.com I need more hardcore fans there with me. Become a member and post there also. We need a 5th starter here in DC. I like Hayes coming of the bench. He is not dedicated at conditioning. I remember him saying last year that he played better off the bench bcause his "legs werent heavy anymore." i think a great guy to get bruce bowen. We have 6.6 mil to spend in exceptions this offseason (an extra 1.5 mil exception that comes every alternate year). I wouldnt offer bowen 6.6 mil but i would be wililng to offer him 4.5 to 5 mil a season. He is 33 but he is the ultimate team player. He will not take shots away from Jamison (who would be moved to PF), Arenas, or Hughes. This team is in need of defense and leadership and that is wut the best man-to-man defender in the nba brings to the table. He had to work his way into the league the hard way. He instantly brings respect with him as he has been a member of at least 4 all-defense teams. I think a starting lineup of Arenas, Hughes, Bowen, Jamison, and Kwame can make the playoffs. Other players to consider are stephen jackson, stro, brian skinner, and keon clark. stephen jackson would be a great addition and he would come for 5 mil a season (problem is if the hawks offer him like 7 mil a year). he is a good defender (league leader in steals). he is 6-8 so he would be a legit SF. one of the only problems i think with getting him is that he is going to cause more squabbling among our scorers for the ball. if he goes back to his spurs ways as a role player then i think he will be a great addition and the team will be playoff caliber. stro is a player with awesome potential. he has awesome leaping ability and a nice reach. he is a league leader in blocks bcause of his ups. he is also a decent rebounder and scorer (he has a mid-range jumper unlike kwame). kwame can be moved to center. wit stro we would really have an athletic sleeper team. skinner would also be a good addition. he is a solid player (10 ppg and 7 rpg). he has gone sort of under the radar. only problem may be he is a bit slow for the princeton offense. at 6-9 he would be either the PF or C. Keon clark is the biggest sleeper out of all these guys. in the nba he hasnt gotten much of a chance to be a starter. he is also coming of an injury-riddled year. i think if we offer him a short term deal which pays 1 to 2 mil annually like a 2 year deal he would bite on it. i like the hustle he brings wit him especially when he tries to get O rebs. Willis has been in the league for 20 years. He used to be a great rebounder before he got old (he had one seasone where he averaged over 15 rpg). He knows the game (he has played for 20 years). I believe he could coach up our big men. He is a FA right now but I think that he is going to retire instead. His coaching would help out a lot of our young big men. I can see him at least making Kwame, Haywood, and Ramos better rebounders. He also used to be a decent passer in the post. He could teach those guys some of those skills too. I am not sure if he has played this long for passion of the game or for money. but if it is passion for the game (which can be found out in interview), he would be a great addition to our staff. other possible choices i like for this job are the toronto head coach from last year ( he had a top 8 defense without players well known for D skills) and tim floyd who operated the princeton offense in NO last year. floyd can coach them up on D and he can also assist EJ a bit with the princeton offense scheme. but i think willis has wut it takes to succeed as an assistant coach.
you dont like dampier at all..great rebounder and former mates with arenas, hughes, and jamison. i woudl liek stephen jackson..but we have jamison at SF. but i agree..we do need a big man center/pf kwame can stay in startin line up but haywood woudl be a better punch off bench with hayes. and i would like if we got bruce bowen we defiently need a one on one defender. and not to be noticed..he is a league leader is 3 pt percentage.

Since he's a restricted free agent, Washington would have to come up with one hell of an offer to sign him.
u noe why we are not going to get dampier? bsides not having the dough to pay him here is another reason. this is from marc stein's column No surprise why Washington was so interested in acquiring Antawn Jamison from the Mavericks. The Wizards' frontcourt players combined to average just 27.6 points per game last season, lowest in the league. Golden State insiders, meanwhile, are downplaying the notion that Jamison and Gilbert Arenas had serious problems co-existing as Warriors. Dampier clashed with Jamison and Arenas far more than they squabbled, and Jamison was among those in Oakland trying to convince Arenas not to leave for D.C.
