<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It has become increasingly clear to owner Mark Cuban that the Los Angeles Lakers will not trade Shaquille O'Neal to the Mavericks unless Dirk Nowitzki is included in the deal. But, depending on the circumstances, Cuban isn't so sure he'll trade for O'Neal if Nowitzki isn't included in the deal. "We'll have to take a look at it," Cuban said. "But it just depends on which players [are involved]." Like many local fans, Cuban isn't too keen on the idea of breaking up the Mavs' combination of Steve Nash, Michael Finley and Nowitzki. He also doesn't want to lose rookie Devin Harris and second-year players Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels.</div> It looks like from this article that the Mavericks aren't really persueing the Lakers and offering up deals right now. They are waiting for the Lakers to call us and then we will make our move. I still don't think we should do this, I love Dirk, and I don't think this deal will benifit us that much. We are a run and gun team, and quite frankly, Shaq can't run Here's the link: http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/basketball/9037587.htm?1c
Exactly. Do not trade Dirk(a young run and gun player) for Shaq(an old player who probably has only 2 or 3 years left) forget that. Dirk is still young in has still yet in my opinoin to hit his peak.

Cuban shouldn't trade Nash or Dirk because they a the keys to this francise. Also Shaq will only be able to take about 3 more years of wear and tear, if he's lucky 4 yrs, I wouldn't do it. Nash and Dirk have well over 4 more years of going out each season every night of busting there behinds. ***Proof***
