He was projected to go in the late first round by draft day. I had seen mocks with him going as high as #17. Today I uncovered a May 5 sportsline.com article..... <<<<<<<<<Nonetheless, here's a look at a consensus of what has been heard, read and seen in recent weeks of what the lottery could look like, assuming the draft order goes according to record: Orlando: Emeka Okafor 6-10, 250, C, Connecticut Chicago: Dwight Howard, 6-11, 230, F, Georgia high school Washington: Luol Deng, 6-8, 220, F, Duke Charlotte: Shaun Livingston, 6-7, 190, G, Illinois high school Los Angeles Clippers: Devin Harris, 6-3, 190, G, Wisconsin Atlanta: Josh Smith, 6-8, 220, F, Georgia high school Phoenix: Kosta Perovic, 7-2, 260, C, Serbia Toronto: Jameer Nelson, 6-0, 185, G, St. Joseph's Philadelphia: Andris Biedrins, 6-11, 240, F-C, Latvia Cleveland: Josh Childress, 6-7, 210, G-F, Stanford Golden State: Peter Ramos, 7-4, 260, C, Puerto Rico Seattle: Al Jefferson, 6-10, 250, F, Mississippi high school Portland: Ben Gordon, 6-2, 190, G, Connecticut >>>>>>> so how good/promising is this guy???
Wht do you mean ... exactly I'm sort of confused ... could you explain better what you really want to say ... that little mock draft or whatever you have doesnt make sense ...??? Now to the point of Peter Ramos ... well have seen him play over here in Puerto Rico ... very good very talented prospect I expect him to be able to go into the NBA very easily ... and if you guys want to see him in action he is set to play iin the Olympics with the Puerto Rico National team ... and for those of you who think that even though he did very well in the BSN ( superior basketball league) who wont be able to the same in the NBA well ... this is a known fact about that league it is the toughest and has the most talent in Latin America... I cant wait to see Peter putting a Wizards jersey ... He may have a slow start in the league but he has great potential ... And the reason why he fell into the second round was because he didnt go to many Team tryouts because he was playing over here ... But he is a very good athlete. i see a very good future for him ... lets hope the wizards stick with him
the mock draft was from a sportsline.com article from may 5th. before the lottery. ramos was projected to go in the lottery at the 11th pick. to get someone like that less than 2 months later at the 32nd pick is a steal.
I have heard great things about him and I think he will be great down the line, I dont think he is that much of a prospect either, I think the hardest thing will be his first couple of months and getting to know the area better.
He's less of a prospect than people might think, with the right motivation this guy and Kwame will be DRob and Duncan in the future
Do you guys think that Ramos will show enough upside to let us ditch Haywood after this year especially if we sign a center this offseason?
I sure hope so. I like the idea of Ramos/Thomas in the future. Haywood just doesn't seem to be a dependable player. He is more inconsistant than Kwame. At least Kwame has shown explosive potential and is 4 years younger.
Thomas probably wont be back next year..Boston is said to be pursuing him and they are offering him a lot of money..probably too much...I dont think Haywood is that bad we need a banger down low.. 7 foot big men are a rarity in the east now a days, he is better than you guys are making him out to be.
im not talking about dumping haywood just for his skills but also to clear cap for next offseason's big spending spree. here is y we should hope that we do not get dampier: next year's FA class will totally rule. if hughes, haywood, and jared jeffries are dumped next offseason and we do not resign etan (or giv him a 1 year deal) and we giv kwame a relatively modest deal (6-year 40 mil), i think we will hav approximately 10 mil in cap room for next offseason where the sweepstakes will be high. with that type of money we could potentially net samuel dalembizzle (if the sixers sign blount), richard jefferson, troy murphy, zach randolph, shareef abdurahim, or ray allen.
he has the potential to be a very good player in the league. And he's not terribly skinny like most foreign players. And he actually likes to play with his back to the basket unlike most foreign players. And he is agressive which is what the Wizards terribly need. But I wouldn't expect immediate impact. Give him one to two years.
