    It's in Nugget-land...Denver. [IMG]

Last time it was in Denver was in 1984, and the East beat the West 154-145 in overtime. Isiah Thomas won the MVP award. I wish we could have games that put up that many points on the board these days...

Are you just saying that because of Kobe Bryant?

The Pepsi Center is a great venue - it's a very good place for the ASG.

I'm not sure what you are talking about with the lack of points..

The final score of the 2003 All Star Game was 155-145 with the west winning in 2OT. 2004's final score was 136-132.

Remember theres no defense in these games, so obviously there will be a lot of points.

Yes, actually I am [IMG] I don't think I'll be watching the AS game with it being in Denver, because I'm predicting a similar "reception" for Kobe just like the one he got in Philly a few years back.

And...lack of points meaning in the regular season. I know the All-Star games are high scoring games, but I miss the ones from the regular season. All you see now are games that barely break 90 points for each team...half the time, not even that.

Well, I'm not sure...because I know that the Toyota Center and the Rockets have bids for either the 2006 or 2007 AS game...so who knows. It doesn't mean that they'll get it...but since Philly had one recently, I'd say they'd be waiting at least another 4 years or so.

    In Denver huh.

I believe the only way the east can win in 2005 is if Rasheed stays in the East.

And i believe the east would also need Shaq and Kobe to come to the east before the east can have any legitimate chance of defeating the west.

Just too much power in the west in my opinion now with Tracy in the W.

Don't worry about hoping...it's already official. And yes, I hope they have a REAL dunk contest next year, because I'm tired of seeing guys doing the same thing. There was a guy named David Lee in the High School dunk contest (McDonald's) that was going crazy with his dunks...it was back in 2001 I believe. If they don't have enough guys dunking for them in the NBA, they should just bring some college or high school guys in, because right now...nobody has matched Vince Carter's performance, not even Jordan. I doubt Richardson can, or Mason for that matter. But...put in Richardson, Mason, Carter, Kobe, LeBron, Francis, and a few others and watch them get up...that would be interesting.

It's in denver this year and you know what that means? the reincarnation of Philly 2001, i see the Kobe introductions to be the loudest... if you know what i mean. The west have <u>no</u> chance whatsoever against the east unless Kobe and another strong west player (in terms of free agency, there is none) move out east. They should really bring back the 8-man dunk contest.

10 years and a single allstar game hasn't been played in Toronto, which is one of the best basketball places in the world.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting That NBA Girl:</div><div class="quote_post">Did they announce where 2006 is yet?</div> I'll answer a quote with another quote:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A team of NBA officials gave their blessing Wednesday for the Rockets' move to Toyota Center. But they might have offered more than that expected rubber stamp about this season with their findings.

After more than three hours inspecting the new arena, league officials said it could be an ideal venue for an All Star Game.

The Rockets have made an official bid to host either the 2006 or 2007 All-Star Weekend.

"We looked at it for both large events and to complete the regular-season requirements," NBA vice president of events and attractions Peter Fink said. "For either the Finals or All-Star setting, it was well-equipped to handle everything we need. It's nice."</div>

Yea, Sheed will not likely make the AS team in the east. Maybe if he was talking about the title, than that could likely be a different story. However, since this is a thread about all star game and location, doubtful.

Josh Smith would own the dunk contest if he was in it for next year.

One FA signing could decide who wins. What if Kobe lands in ATL somehow? (not gonna happen), then he could change the whole game, like he did this past year.
