I just checked Stephon's playerfile at nba.com and noticed that he hasn't lasted in a ball club more than 2 and a half seasons. He was in Minnesota then got traded in 98-99 to NJ where he again played 2 seasons and a half before he got traded to Phoenix where the same thing occured...this raises the question: May this happen again? It would be very weird if it will.

Not really new to me, Steph has had a hard time balancing his own indiviual offensive talents with that of his role as a point guard as far as making his team more successful and getting the most out his teammates like a star talent wth his ability should be able to do.

I will never say never about Steph leaving the knicks in less than two seasons. The NBA is a business which makes every player in the league trade able with the exception of a very few, KG, Duncan etc. So if the right deal comes along Steph could be gone tommorrow, thats just the business side of the league.

But I do think he will more than likely be a knick for a long time to come. The Knicks are a good match for Steph. And Steph is a good match for the Knicks.

Steph coming to the Knicks brought excitement back to the garden, which was/is good for the business side of the Knicks. And Steph is the best talent on the Knicks since Patrick Ewing(in his prime) which with the right parts around him, will be benefical to the on-court side of the knicks.

And Isiah Thomas & Lenny Wilkens can both relate to trying to balance indiviual skills with that of teamates & team success as a star guard. So they will give him a little more room to grow compared to some of the others teams he played for in the past. And they will also be able to help him with his growth at the position. So I can only see Steph becoming a more well-rounded player as a Knick. So thats why I see him sticking around for a while.

Steph has too many years and too much left his contract to be traded any time soon. Not many teams would take on his salary w/o going way over the cap.

As far as Steph's game, I don't think that you should build your team around his talents. I don't think that he is selfish, I just think that he is spoiled. He's been catered too his entire basketball career and he feels as if he has the leverage to demand what he wants. That type of personality often alienates someone from their teammates and that's what I think has happened w/ Steph.

Hopefully the Knicks can bring in someone who is capable of drawing attention away from Steph b/c as long as Steph is the primary option for the Knicks, the Knicks will continue to be a mediocre ball club.

He could get traded if they really want Shaq. Because Thomas Thomas and Houston isn't enough imo to pull Shaq. So it may come down to moving Marbury if they are really serious about getting Shaq
