C- ------ PF- Amare Stoudemire SF- Shawn Marion SG- Joe Johnson PG- Steve Nash Not that bad if you ask me.
I'm not surprised Nash signed with Phoenix, but I'm shocked at how much they paid for him. He'll get about 11 mil this year and 16 mil by the end of the contract. I'm not sure I would have paid that much to an injury risk like Nash. If everyone stays healthy, the Suns are going to have a very good team next couple of years. The only problem is I don't think they left enough cap room to sign a center.
Like I said, don't worry about Kobe and get Nash and a Center, maybe Dampier, but more likely Okur: PG: Steve Nash/ Barbosa SG: Joe Johnson/ Casey Jacobsen SF: Shawn Marion/ Zarko Carbakapa PF: Amare Stoudemire/ Antonio McDyess (hopefully)/ Marcej Lampe C: (Hopefully Dampier or Okur)/ Marcej Lampe/ Jake Voushkl (McDyess can play center too)

That eliminates the Suns from contention for Kobe, but they didn't really have a shot anyway in my opinion... I'm surprised at how fast Nash decided to bail on Dallas

Woohoo! One need down, one to go! We are going to scrap for the playoffs indeed. Okur will be available for 6 milion but I doubt Dampier will be. now that we have Nash, Okur will be even more likely to come over I bet. It's kinda sad that Nash sees enormous contracts as who wants him the most though... I guess we'll never find out if Vujanic was any good... I can't see him coming over with 3 PGs already on board. Og15:I'm glad I'm not the only one on these boards that is hoping the re-sign McDyess. Anyone know what veterans minimum is?
I would rather sign Adonal Foyle if I was Pheonix. They could definately sign him for $6 million per year. Or Blount...You cant get Damp for that.

Anyone know how the salary is broken down so we know how much we have left to spend? Are we sure about this 6mil stuff? Can Foyle provide the offense Okur can though? Then again is that what we need? I'm assuming Foyle would be the better defender based on slander I heard from the Warriors forum Again: anyone out there know what the veterans minimum is? I wanna know id we can get Okur for his 5million and change (mid level exception plus a little so Pistons can't match) and get Dice for less than 2.... if we even have that much left Maybe Nash's first couple year's will be cheap so we can afford to pick up Dice. I think both of 'em will be injury free.
Glad to have Nash back, maybe overpaid but Amare was at the meeting and also has the same agent as Nash so who knows when Amare is ready for a new deal.
Suns are going after kobe too, they put their offer if Kobe does sign with Phoenix, hell ill see them winning a ring near future..... very talented team with or without kobe
i love this pickup for the suns. nash will be a better leader than marbury was. with nash/marion/amare i kinda see them as the nets (with kidd/kmart/rj) of the west but having more money as a franchise to get better players. this is great for phx and bad for dallas. phx is moving foward while dallas just took a step backwards. i hope lampe gets playing time this upcoming season.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/bask...h.ap/index.html here is the skinny on the deal: five years 65mil with a partial garuntee for a sixth year. the 16 mil they are under the cap does not include Nash's deal.
