    PG-Steve Nash
    SG-Kareem Rush
    SF-Kobe Bryant
    PF-Luke Walton
    C-Dirk Nowitzki

Steve said he goes with Dirk, and Cuban will trade him for Shaq i have a feeling. Steve is a free agent so he will sign with LA, and Kobe stays because Shaq is leave and he will be the man of LA

Although it's not official, Nash says he's going to the Suns.

If Luke Walton was our starting PF I would say that he might be the worst starting PF in the Lakers' franchise history. Although he has the height, he is more of a guard than a forward. Plus he doesn't have the weight or strength to play the forward spot, let alone the PF spot. Even if the Lakers don't have any good PF's there's no way Walton will be starting there.

Well since Nash is a Sun again I'm hoping for
    PG-GP
    SG-Kobe Byrant
    SF-Luke Walton
    PF-Karl Malone
    C- Shaq

I think the Shaq trade will be a multi team trade so...I'm almost certain Dampier will be a Laker next year....but this is what I'm hoping for...perhaps wishful thinking

    PG Payton
    SG Kobe
    SF Marion
    PF Malone
    C Dampier

Of course, I don't see how the Suns would trade Marion when they can sign Nash straight up...unless Phoenix decides to sign another big free agennt (not named Kobe hopefully)...othwerwise, we'll see Antoine Walker at the SF position

The way things are turning out, I'm going to predict that there's no chance the Lakers will have both Shaq and Kobe next year. And as for Walton starting at the 4, there'd be no way. He'd probably do a decent job offensively, but he can't play defense against guys like Duncan and Garnett. Granted Malone comes back, here's my lineup...

    PG - Payton
    SG - Finley
    SF - Bryant
    PF - Malone
    C - Nowitzki

I have a feeling that Cuban will give in and trade for Shaq...because he already lost Nash, the guy who supposedly wanted to only play alongside Nowitzki...but who knows. I really have no idea whatsoever where O'Neal is going. All I know is that the Lakers will be pretty good next year, as long as they play the 3-guard and stay away from the triangle. Kobe will be the go-to guy, Payton will be able to execute the offense better, and with guys shooting and driving the lane all over the place...there will be no need for Shaq.

I have no clue what the hell the possible starting line up could be next year. Currently the Lakers only have, and quote me if I'm wrong, but, 7 players under contract, something in that area. Fox is considering retiring. Malone opted out but hasn't said anything about retiring yet and he said if he plays next year it'll be with the Lakers. Kobe's future with the organization is still up in the air. Shaq is pretty much gone, just need to find a good deal for him. Fisher might be leaving. All in all, I find it hard to predict a lineup for a team who hardly has enough to make a starting line up right now. I'll wait to see how things boil down once all the trading and signing gets going for the Lakers.

^ I'm with you Moo2k4, I also don't have a clue on what the hell the lineup will be next year. The only position that seems to be a lock for us is little ol' Gary Payton, and even that might change if we get a young & better PG for the Shaq trade. My feeling is that Devean George will still be our starting SF next year though, it seems like that is on position we never improve on. Plus I'm betting George will have a breakout season next year, eventhough some may think I'm crazy for that.

I think that Rush might be starting SG next year, and, if Kobe does resign, bump him down to SF and put GP or someone at the point. I think that'd be the best backcourt for the Lakers currently. But, the frontcourt is still very much up in the air to me. But, personally, I don't believe George will be starting next year. He was far too inconsistent all year and was terrible in the playoffs, especially the Finals. I think the only way he starts next year is he gets a coach who will have full confidence him and will look past his inconsistency.

Don't get me wrong...I just gave a prediction, but I really don't know where the Lakers are leaning when it comes to trades, and I don't have a clue as to what their roster will look like next year. It seems like I could do a better job of predicting any other team roster but the Lakers, and it's mainly due to Kobe and Shaq. If the Lakers trade off Shaq, they could get 3 guys that could start, or at least two of them would. Without Kobe, they'd have to move everyone around...it's just a mess right now, but I do have faith that Los Angeles will come out on top again [IMG]

I have no clue what the starting lineup will be but I dont think Kobe/GP are staying and Malone is said to be retiring after a good long career. And Shaq wont stick because he wants to be traded him on Dallas? All these rumors flying around make it real hard to make a prediction, but heres one thing that I think will happen: Kareem Rush starting at SG.

    Pg - Gary Payton
    Sg - Kareem Rush
    Sf - Jerry Stackhouse
    Pf - Antoine Walker
    C - Shawn Bradley

Kobe will play in five years, and Shaq will be in Dallas.

    PG - Gary Payton
    SG - Kareem Rush
    SF - Kobe Bryant
    PF - Kenyon Martin/Carlos Boozer
    C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas

BOOK IT. Shaq isn't going to Dallas. If Cuban is gambling over the most dominant player and not trading for him in a heartbeat, then the best center that could replace Shaq in certain aspects would be Ilgauskas, and Boozer would make the deal fair.
Kobe isn't leaving. He said he would like to leave to a team that would be his. Since Shaq is leaving, the Lakers would be his.

Boozer and Z for Shaq? Yeah right, that will NEVER happen. There's no way the Cavs would ever do that. And I know I definitely wouldn't.

You obviously don't watch much ESPN or visit this forum much. Cause, if you would have, you would know that Gary Payton decided to pick up his option and stay for the remainder of his contract.
