    Good for Laker fans

    PG : Payton
    SG : Kobe
    SF : George
    PF : Malone
    C : Dampier ( sign and trade)

    Reasonable

All the first 4 stay the same...
    C : Horace Grant [IMG]

that's not happening. the lakers spent almost all but any of their chance of getting fisher back by letting Payton sign back on. Why would fisher want to come back to a bench role next year? the lakers don't have money to offer him.

I could see the lineup looking something like this: (14 players in all)

    C-Vlade/B.Grant/Douthit
    F-Malone/Slava/Cook
    F-Odom/George/Walton
    G-Kobe/Rush
    G-Payton/Lue/Vujacic
    COACH: Rudy T.

*The Lakers trade Shaq to Miami Heat for Brian Grant, Lamar Odom, and a future #1 pick.

*Kobe re-signs (7 years, max salary) Rudy T signs a contract to be the new head coach...Slava Medvedenko also re-signs.

*Sign Vlade to the vet's min. He even said he wanted to return to LA, and I read somewhere that his wife is in actress that lives in Tinseltown.

*Lakeshow decides that Malone deserves the MLE or at least part of it, so they re-sign him after he determines that he is healthy enough to play.

*The Lakers cannot get Fisher to agree to a contract, so they sign-n-trade him to Houston for Tyronn Lue, a former Laker himself. Lue gives the team youth and speed.

*Rick Fox retires because of injuries and becomes an actor. Bryon Russell either retires or goes to a different team that needs a proven vet.

Things I could see MAYBE happening:

*Lakers trading Devean George to Minnesota for defensive wizard Trenton Hassell. George is a Minneapolis native and could be near family, while the Lakers get a solid defensive player.

*A scorer like Troy Hudson comes to the Lakers in search of a ring; Karl Malone wants his ring and his scoring title, so he takes yet another paycut. Hudson would receive the MLE...

*Shaq actually stays, and the Lakers could actually have almost the same lineup as last year.

Umm...theres a slight problem with that starting lineup...

    1) Nash is 90% going to Pheonix
    2) even if nash stays, mark cuban would never trade BOTH dirk and Nash for shaq
    3) IF somehow, lakers do land Nash and Dirk, they wont have enough money to sign Kobe, since he has such a huge contract
    4) Kobe really doesnt wanna stay in lakerland
    5) They still wont win because they would only have a good starting lineup, the bench would still suck.

um so by removing shaq's 29 million dollars in that trade for dirk and nash...how would they not have enough money to sign kobe when they have enough money to sign kobe with shaq on the books...anyways...they can give kobe whatever the hell they want...you know nothing about the CBA and the salary regulations and who can offer what...the lakers are over the cap but they're still the team that can offer the most money to kobe...and your 5th comment sayin their bench would still suck...better than having a team that cant play defense?

I personallly think Shaq will be traded to the kings. I have no idea about their bench tho.

C- Erik Dampier ( free agent)
    PF- Chris Webber
    SF- Kobe
    SG- doug Christie
    PG- Gary Paton

    That would work nicely.

    Kings line up

    C-Shaq
    PF-Brad Miller
    SF- Peja
    SG- Bobby Jackson?
    PG- Mike Bibby

I fell they will both be title contenders and a front court of shaq miller and peja is pretty sweet.
The rivalry wil get bigger between them. IT will be Shaq v Kobe to see who can lead their team better and I believe it will be Shaq. Shaq wll most likely have mnster ghames vs the Lakers, and Kobe will force shots and the Lakers lose.

How is Z gonng get their?

    I say

    Payton
    Kobe
    Rush
    malone
    (not sure)

You cant really predict the future line up because it all goes by who they get for Shaq.

    Best Lakers Lineup:

    PG Payton
    SG Bryant
    SF Odom
    PF Malone
    C B. Grant

The Heat trade for Shaq goes down, the Lakers are pretty athletic, but won't make it to the Western Conference Finals, unless this team really clicks. The Heat on the other hand become awesome led by Shaq and Wade..

Lineup I would like to see: actually it would probably be the same lineup..

There was rumors I think of Shaq to the Cavs for Z, Wagner, Eric Williams, and either Ollie or Ira Newble. I doubt that would happen though.
