What do people think of him being picked at 10 by the Cavaliers? I thought they would have gotten a back-up point guard and traded Kevin Ollie. Would have prefered that, although I hope Jackson can stand up and play like a pro. Hopefully he will be a great player for a great team in the only position they really don't have a good player in - SF.

Apparantly he is a player who wanted to play and showed more interest in it than other people at his college and has good skills. Never gives up, which is great to see.

Im from Portland OR, i watch alot of Luke Jackson games. He really improve him self in every aspect of the game. He has a great leadership skills. He is not selfish. He likes to pass. Plus he is a great shooter too. He was second place in the College three point contest.

A truly classy guy. He'll do whatever it takes to win, whether that's creating for somebody else or making clutch shots. He may never dominate in the NBA because of his lack of quickness, but he'll find a way to make an impact.

I think it wasa very nice pick. The Cavs got what they needed, a SF, and they got a good one. They also needed an outside shooter. Jackson really improved his stock in the draft by doing great in his workouts. I personally saw some of his games when he played for Oregon. He's not just able to hit the long ball, but he is also able to do other things like make his way to the hoop. He's not afraid to get aggressive. I really liked this pick. At first he was projected at mid-low first round but he made it into the Lottery andinto the top 10. Very nice pick for the Cavs.

I was also listening to WTAM 1100, a radio station, and they were talking to LJax. He said he's really excited about playing with the Cavs. Good news.

Does anyone else think they could have used the pick on a back-up point-guard? I think Luke Jackson will be a great player, but Kevin Ollie is never going to be any good. They really need someone there to be able to put points on the board when Jeff McInnis is out or resting. Ollie can play OK for a few minutes, but when j-mac was out injured, the teams hopes really went with him. Thoughts?

uh...no, they drafted what they truely needed. Cleveland needs a SF badly, why would you want to pass up a guy like Luke Jackson and draft a backup pointguard for Jeff McGinnis. They have a very good team with Luke, Lebron, Z, and Boozer(if he stays). Isn't Wagner trying very hard to improve his point guard skills.?? Wagner can probably play some point mintues if Jeff is injured. If that doesnt work, play LeBron at point while Wagner at shooting guard. Good pick for Cleveland.

    great pick, I'm very pleased

you can forget about boozer I think, the bridges are burned, he'll be in utah

but even still, we should have a vast improvement in the 3 spot from last year, which was really a huge hole - now we have luke, and pavlovic to contribute some meaningful minutes - any production out of that position will be a big upgrade from last year

as for jeff, when he was healthy last year he played big minutes, nearly the whole game usually. the backup pg spot didn't become a problem until he went down, so if mcinnis can stay healthy we should be fine there (fingers crossed)... and wagner is showing some promise in taking over the backup pg duties - if he can become a decent scoring backup pg, that will also be a big improvement

then we'll obviously have z back, and look out for lebron to play on an even greater level than last year

so good pick, 3's where we really needed our man

now we need a pf to replace boozer... stromile?

Why would you pick a backup player when a starter is on the board at a position you don't have a capable starter for? The lottery is for starters, not backups. Explain your logic?

^ Cleveland went at their best for a small part of the season - when Z and McInnis were both fully fit and playing well. The lack of a good SF didn't stop them from playing some good basketball and beating some of the best teams. They traded for Pavlovic, so he could play at SF, which only really leaves back-up PG as a hole in their team. Although they finally got rid of Kevin Ollie for Eric Snow and Dajuan Wagner is playing well in the summer league, so I take back what I said about their back-up PG.
