Who is the most famous person you've met? Living in Adelaide, Australia, the chances of meeting a celebrity are quite slim, especially compared to living in big US cities. The biggest celebrities I've met have been: Ben Harper and Jack Johnson, the musicians after they did a show in Adelaide. Both down to earth and really chilled and friendly. Dickie Bird, the most famous cricket umpire of all time. He's english, and I doubt many of you would have heard of him, but he was very friendly and it was an absolute honour to meet such a figure of the sport. Others: Various Australian athletes, mainly footballers and basketballers. Who's the most famous person(s) you've met?
As far as basketball goes, I've met just about everyone from Magic Johnson to Jason Kidd. If you are referring to off-the-court celebrities though, I've met Chris Martin, Prince, Brittney Spears & Justin Timberlake (when they were going out they lived down the street from me... now Justin's family lives in that house), and Robin Williams.
The most famous person I met outside the basketball world would have to be Christina Aguilera. I met her after she wrapped up her concert in NYC. My friends and I was just wandering around, and we see someone covered in a long black coat, but as we got closer we noticed that it was Christina, we were pleasantly surprised, but all she did was give us a wink. (A very SEXY wink)
I'm sorry Sonic, but WHO THE HELL? I'll never understand soccer, cricket, gay sex, lacrosse, or rugby. BTW - Forgot to add that I met one of my all-time idols a few months ago, Stevie "Space Cowboy" Miller when they played a show in Memphis.
I've never met someone outside of sports...but I've met most of the Seattle Mariners at spring training, Sam Adkins (former Seahawks QB), George Foster (baseball HOFer), Enos Slaughter (also baseball HOFer). And I just found out that my uncle plays golf with "Downtown" Freddie Brown...so hopefully I'll meet him soon.
I've met and talked to Peter Jackson, the Lord of the Rings director. I've also met Tom Cruise. Living in New Zealand, I don't see many celebrites famous worldwide in person. But I've met heaps of All Blacks, and other national celebrites. They're really easy to find here.
I've met alot of players... Jermaine O'Neal, Mike Bibby, Jason Kidd (x2), Dwayne Wade, Ron Artest, Chucky Atkins, Cliff Robinson, Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince (x2), Richard Hamilton (x2), Chauncy Billups, Darko Milicic, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Malik Rose, Manu Ginobili, Anthony Carter, Rasho Nesterovic, Bruce Bowen, Robert Horry, Kevin Willis, Monty Williams, Kyle Korver (x2), Marc Jackson, Aaron McKie, Eric Snow (x5), John Salmons (x2), Efthimois Rentzias, Greg Buckner, Allen Iverson, Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner, Samuel Dalembert, Keith Van Horn (x2), Todd MacCulloch (x2), Ira Newble, Lucious Harris, Richard Jefferson, Tamar Slay, Brian Scalabrine, Eddie Griffin, Rodney Rogers, Aaron Williams, Jason Collins, Kerry Kittles, Tyronn Lue, Juwan Howard, Andrew DeClercq, Troy Hudon, Trenton Hassell, Mark Madsen, Ervin Johnson, Michael Olowakandi, Jiri Welsch, Ricky Davis, Kedrick Brown, Flip Saunders (T-Wolves coach), Bill Walton (ex-player, x2), Cheryl Miller (broadcaster), World B. Would just like to butt in before the whole bitchfight ensues... Met rock/soul musician Cody Chesnutt at a gig earlier in the year... top bloke, took time to shake hands and chat with everyone before and after the show. I've met a few AFL footballers, including last year's #1 pick and had a few beers with a couple of players from my favourite team. Played cricket with several big names (or big names to be). Bowled to Australian and Sri Lankan cricketers at a training session. Coached basketball by Australian National Basketball League hall-of-famer Al Green. One of my good mates is one of the top lacrosse players in the world for his age. Think his plying his trade in Rhode Island at the moment, but looking to transfer to a Div. 1 school before going pro.
the most famous would have to be Sidney Portier and Pierce Brosnan..met both of 'em on a plane. As for sports peoples, most of the peeps I met have been college players/former University Of Tennessee/University Of Memphis or ETSU players.
