Livingston is sick, yea I wouldn't mind either, but Clippers have to give more, Carter and Alvin = like 20 million
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Livingston is sick, yea I wouldn't mind either, but Clippers have to give more, Carter and Alvin = like 20 million</div> How much does Maggette make? 6.1 Million? That alone is over 15% of 20 Million, so the salaries should match.
NO ONE...Vince Carter is not the same player he was 2-3 years ago. Plain and simple, he's hurt too often and hasn't been a factor the last couple years. The only reason a GM would trade for him is simply because VC brings the possibility of selling out an arena for every game, regardless of whether he suits up or not...
Well Vince was healthier than most players this season; Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'neal, Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, Dwayne Wade etc. He still ended up scoring 22.5 PPG and being 7th in the league in that catergory. He could score 28 a game if he wanted to, except he has more options now than he ever has.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting banks3:</div><div class="quote_post">How much does Maggette make? 6.1 Million? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG-MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">Thats pretty funny. Prince and Hamilton is ridiculous. Hamilton already being a great player, and Prince being a player who has a bunch of potential. Dont laugh because you know im right, Carter is a washed up player , hes not worth anything. I dont give a crap about his stats, I really dont think those we be that high if he played in a more competitve part of the league or on another team. How about Oliver Miller for Carter Straight up, Wolves wouldnt say no to a good bench player.</div>Carter isn't a washed up player. Just simply watch Raptor games and your opinion towards him will change. Sorry, but highlights, statistics, and articles don't count. Carter is better than Hamilton in almost every facet of the game. Carter is better than Prince in every facet of the game. But since Prince and Hamilton would maintain the Pistons style of play more than Vince would due to their style of play that fits the Pistons, it's not a good trade. But assuming the Pistons would change their style of play with Vince, it's an excellent trade.
More Options?!?!?! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting banks3:</div><div class="quote_post">Well Vince was healthier than most players this season; Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'neal, Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, Dwayne Wade etc. He still ended up scoring 22.5 PPG and being 7th in the league in that catergory. If thats the case, why didn't they make the playoffs again?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG-MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">Gee, settle down. First, Iverson is better than Carter. Tayshaun garbage? Screw that. If you dont understand what i'm saying about that then you dont know what your talking about.Go ahead and rol yur eyes, i dont care about your opinion, as its incorrect. Now as I said, Oliver Miller for Carter straight up. Done deal.</div> i think you should look up "opinion" in the dictionary. how can an opinion be incorrect? you may disagree with it, that doesnt make it incorrect. lol oliver miller for carter? tell me your joking. obviously your knowledge of ball is about as deep as your knowledge of the definition of opinion <div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG-MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know who your talking about, but anyone with any sense about basketball can give a guy at least some respect if he averaged a tripple-double.You need to accept the fact that not everyone like the same players you do, and differnet people have differnet views on players skills etc. You need to chill, cus you got no right to come on here new and just start calling people idiots and stuff because they dont like your beloved superstar.</div> unlike you...the justbball veteran coming on here telling people their opinions are "incorrect" lol. kettle calling the pot black? i thinks so lol so someone with at least SOME knowledge should respect a player avg'ing a triple double. yet vince avg'd 22, 5 and 5...and you give him no respect. you even say "i dont care about the stats". you ignore facts when shoved in your face. practice what you preach brotha. vince is hardly "all-mighty" but certainly worthy of more respect then you give him. the vince carter bandwagon is SO funny to watch roll around. 3 yrs ago, the same people saying that vince is washed up, not a superstar, and a terrible player are the same people who were calling him the next jordan. that is of course if those people were even watching ball back then. you got people with KG avatars and pistons sig's, sayin carter is washed up. 9 games missed, 22ppg, 5rpg, 5apg is quite far from washed up. am i mistaken? should i be looking passed stats? is there some vince carter thats on tv that i havnt been watching? sure he's being a baby lately...sure he's bitching like a little girl...does that have anything to do with his play? dont think so. its funny what 2 seasons of injurys can do to a player
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting r4shox01:</div><div class="quote_post">What options? Are you talking about Jalen Rose, Donyell Marshall and Mo Peterson? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting DeeBum07:</div><div class="quote_post">ur crazy that bulls trade is nowhere near enough your a true idiot and u think that is fair</div> LOL. That whole discussions from something else. and I was just saying you shouldnt be calling the guy and isiot, he just had an opinion about a trade.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting banks3:</div><div class="quote_post">How much does Maggette make? 6.1 Million? That alone is over 15% of 20 Million, so the salaries should match.</div> That is NOT how the salary cap works.... Anyway, I believe the Clippers have substantial salary cap room. Meaning, that trade would work because the Clippers could absorb the larger salaries. But if they couldn't, the salaries cannot exceed differ by more than 15%. What you do, is take the smaller salary and mutliply it by 1.15. If the product is larger than the largest collective salary, then the trade works. i.e. Team A trades $10 million in salaries Team B trades $8 million in salaries. Take $8,000,000 X 1.15 = 9,200,000 Since the largest salary ($10,000,000) is more than the product ($9,200,000) the trade does NOT work.
og15, would you trade Carter and Bosh for Livingston and Brand if you were the Raps and were presented with that oppurtunity by the Clippers?
After I saw Livingston play for one year, you can't be sure he will be good, I hope he will but it's not 100%, so you can't go trading 2 good guys for one good guy and a mystery guy, I'd love to have Brand and Carter playing together though instead of being traded for each other.
who could we trade besies carter to get brand over here in Tdot mo pete chris and donyell marshall ehh is that enuff i was gunna say rose instead of marshall but thats too much IMO
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting banks3:</div><div class="quote_post">og15, would you trade Carter and Bosh for Livingston and Brand if you were the Raps and were presented with that oppurtunity by the Clippers?</div> i certainly wouldnt. thats a terrible deal for the raps. bosh has a HUGE upside, and should be putting up brand like numbers in about two more seasons. i think bosh will be as good, maybe better then brand. livingston hasnt played a game of nba ball in his life...raps would be taking a HUGE chance on that. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting DeeBum07:</div><div class="quote_post">who could we trade besies carter to get brand over here in Tdot mo pete chris and donyell marshall ehh is that enuff i was gunna say rose instead of marshall but thats too much IMO</div> why do we want brand? we need a center and a point guard. brand is good...but that puts bosh back at center, and he's much better suited at the 4. raps are stocked at the 4. we need a center
Everybody we've been through this soooooo many times!!! VC cannot and should not be traded to anyone unless a superstar comes right back. Anything other than that just wouldn't be worth it unless u get 2-3 average guys and maybe a draft pick. Anything else would be a rip off for the raps b/c VC is an awesome player no matter which way you look at it. There aren't many guys in the league like him and the raps are fortunate to have him. He is their best asset at the present time(CB4 in the future). You can throw the "he's too weak and he's injury plagued" theme at him but the fact is even in his injury years he still put up over 20ppg when playing and lass year he only missed 9 games and averaged over 22ppg. I think the raptors front office should see how things turn out this year with a healthy VC playing with a good 2nd and 3rd and 4th option in Jrose, Donyell Marshall and an improved CB4. The raps got a good team and VC is the leader. Trade him and the raps playoff drought will go on for even longer unless another bonified superstar comes into town like PP or kobe or t-mac even maybe a stevie franchise(him wit a first rounder). Only players at this level can compensate for VC going out of town. And besides he's a crazy dunker and he represents the raps well all the time at the all star game.(leading vote getter for like the last 3-4 years)
