I've coached against him in The Netherlands, before he went to the States. He was pretty good (and already tall) back then, but I was surprised to see him on the summerleague roster.
Iam not really sure if any f these cats would make an impact on our regular season roster(other then the guys we hae under contract Zoran Planinic & Brain Scalabrine). I mean we have familiar players to the Nets family like Donny Marshall, Damone Brown seeing that they have played for the Nets in the past. But no real need for them to come back, they werent able to get off the bench on the team when we lacked depth the last season or two. I rather fill our last 1 or 2 roster spots with a guy like Alvin Jones, who was a decent shot blocker & rebounder at Georgia Tech and has good NBA size. He could add some depth to our slow none-athletic front line outside of Martin. And Jeff Trepragier( Scali's teamate at USC) would add some youth off the bench at a position we are gettng old at with KK & Lu, so I will be inteested to see how he preforms And I use to like Willie Soloman when he was at Clemson, he was extremely quick off the dribble but he doesnt really fill any role we need. We dont need a shoot 1st, 3rd string backup pg guard with a 2 guard mentalty & poor effiency from the field. But I still would like to see how he preforms.

Scalabrine with 21 points? Nice. Al Jefferson had a nice game as well with 15, 6 boards and 2 blocks.
man. zoran had 6to's but made his FT. i really hope zoran is solid in the summer league. this will show us if we are going to get a backup pg or if we feel safe with zoran. this is the opportunity that veal has been waiting for. he has been in our system for a while now and w/o debo, he is now the first PF off the bench to give kmart some rest, or even coming in for rj. as long as he has confidence in his jumper and doesn't make stupid fouls,he can have a very nice career. i think one problem with veal is that on defense he makes a few too many touch/slap fouls or on offense he tries to hard and gets a charge. he needs to cut down in his fouls now because he is now more important to us this upcoming season. we still don't know eddie's situation is going to turn out and don't know if we will get a big body in return for kk in a trade (which hopefully is in the works) or a big body in the FA market. we know our bench was very disappointing last year, but i think veal can help turn our bench around. he is energetic and does have a nice shot and can pass the ball. he just has to be tweaked a bit to become how good he can become. veal should do fine in this sum.league, but im really looking at zoran and his performance. it would be nice if the games were be on tv. man,i cant believe basketball leagues are already starting up again
