I remember them saying that at the end of the season, I thought they were joking though, I didn't really take the whole them involving Carter thing seriously, but I guess it was supposed to be. I don't like Richard Peddie. He looks like he knows things about basketball but he doesn't. He probably saw Ha Seung-Jin and said "wow he's tall and big...we need a big man so we should draft him"

Believe it or not, he has been and still is the franchise player of the Toronto Raptors -- the only team in Canada -- capable of winning games and being the go-to guy in crunch time. Even as a Vince fan, I'm not saying that Carter is on the same level as Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett. Vince just doesn't have that killer-instinct those three guys possess, that Michael Jordan once had. But he deserves his own share of credit as a superstar, or for that matter, as an outstanding individual. Think about it... Out of those three guys I mentioned, who would actually want to come up to Canada and play? Heck, even if I was them I wouldn't wanna play up here.. it's cold, it's barren, and the only NBA franchise in the country gets bashed basically everyday by the Toronto media.. the list goes on and yes, the truth hurts. Vince could have left Toronto when his rookie contract expired. He could have simply said to Grunwald, "No I'm not interested in re-signing with your team." He could have left to sign with the Miami Heat, or any teams near his hometown of Daytona Beach, FL. He could have left the Raptors hanging like T-Mac did, like Damon Stoudamire did. But instead he stayed with the Raptors. He has gone through a lot these past two seasons, from injuries to playing for two completely opposite coaches in as many seasons. But has he ever come out to the media and said that he wanted to be traded? Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge that there are several articles with anonymous sources that claimed Vince's desire to be traded, but Carter himself has not said anything, unlike Shaq or T-mac who demanded trades publicly simply because they didn't like the direction their teams were going. Aren't Franchise Players supposed to get their teams going in a right direction? Aren't they the ones that should shoulder the load and haul their teams when times are tough? And let me ask you, is that not what Vince did, or at least tried in his best ability to do so during the past two seasons? Yes, he bogged down at times and looked like someone else, but don't everyone have slumps? Don't everyone make mistakes?

Players don't have to be involved in all that stuff, but when you promise them that you'll involve them, then you should. They should'nt have said they'd involve him in everything if they really weren't going to, ah well.

He would of gotten that kind of money from any other team under the cap, remember those were coming off his first 3 seasons of his career, arguably his best...definitly the 2nd and 3rd were his bests

I intend no offense but even Steve Nash didn't sign with us, even if he would have been able to play for his country's lone basketball team. He chose the path that offered him more cash. All I'm trying to say here is let's just wait and see what Vince has in store for us.. stay put and be loyal fans if you expect Vince to be loyal to us. Again, don't get me wrong on this.. I was pretty ticked off when I saw reports that Vince wanted out, but until Vince himself comes out and says that he wants out, I'm going to keep my faith in him.
