Id like him on my team, but not at the expense of Dirk. Shaq, IMO, has 2 or 3 great seasons left. Dirk has at least 7 or 8. He is getting older, slower, more injury prone. I don't think we need him and his massive contract.
How could the Mavs get him with Steve Nash gone. But although Shaq is a really great player the Mavs should get a solid center with more solid years left,like Dampier.
Agreed TwinTowers and I also agree with WMCJ, I would love to have Shaq but not with giving up Dirk. Shaq is past his prime and literly almost done. Where as Dirk is only just 26 and only getting better every year. Well be more than happy to let Antoine Walker go.
Nah, I mean we already have a pretty good team, with the likes of Devin Harris and Jerry Stack, so I wouldn`t go nuts over Shaq anymore.
The really special thing would be Shaq playing beside Dirk. I'd send Howard, Laetner, Walker, Podkolzine, Najera, Stackhouse, Dell Harris, half of the Mavs Dancers and Bradley for Shaq (which I realize is ludicrous for many reasons). But Shaq, Dirk, Fin, Daniels, Harris would be fun to watch for the next five years. I think people underestimate how many years Shaq has left, centers easily play late into their thirties. His footwork and passing will continue to improve to offset his diminishing mobility. But the answer to you question, I would not trade Dirk for Shaq.
