Is that supposed to be Marcus or Maurice Banks?

I think Marcus is short for Maurice.

Interest stats for Dorrell Wright and Dwight Howard. Summer league isn't a leading indicator by any means, but it does give a little hint as to who can really play.

Looks like the kid with the quick first step (Wright) can play in a summer league. Now if he can only score half of those points in a real NBA game.

    Wow, a Sam Clancy sighting.

I don't care if it is the summer or not, 30 points is pretty impressive in your first professional contest. Wright might be as good as advertised.

The key word is might be. There has been a lot of players who could really play in a summer league but doesn't have what it takes to be good in the NBA. It's the summer league, he showed he can play and that's good for me as of this point.

Wright is fresh out of high school, though. He probably had the worst highlights (what espn showed when he was picked) during the draft of anyone selected, period. You can't knock someone for producing in the summer league. I'd rather see him produce now and then come into the season having some confidence.

Had "Flip" Murray not produced last year in the summer league he might have gotten cut from the Sonics. I definitely pay attention to what goes on in these leagues b/c a lot of these players won't get that much time to really show what they're capable of during the season (if they make the team).

30 Points, 5 Rebounds? It might be summer league, but those are awfully good stats.

Dorrell Wright really sticks out from all those. That's a huge game for a kid straight outta high school. He could be pretty good this year, who knows. Though, this is summer league and he's not playing anyone really of NBA calibur yet. But, 30 points is very good. We'll see what he's really made of though come the season.
