This isn't the first time Danny has said something about not intending to trade his players. Let's just hope that he doesn't have something up his sleeve like last time.
Like When CV? To my knowledge, he's done no such thing while in Boston. Not to mention, he specifically implicates Doc in this public statement. Doc and them building a strong relationship, is exactly what Doc's sentiments have been all along. He wants Paul in Boston. There's no reason to think that Danny's not being honest about this. He has no reason to make the statement. We all know he doesn't care what the press thinks or says about him.

I may be wrong in my statement being that it was almost exactly a year ago he got traded but I do recall a similar statement regarding Antoine Walker not being on the trading block etc etc. And then he promptly got traded. Now he didn't say he wanted to build around him but he did say that he would not trade him. I'm not saying that he is not sincere in his statment regarding Pierce but I would not be surprised at all if he went a different direction.
I don't recall those statements, but will check on them. I'd like to know for sure also CV. I recall that Ainge made comments that he wanted to sit down with Walker and discuss the teams future(we all know how that meeting turned out ), But don't recall him ever making the statement that he wouldn't trade AW. I remember very clearly saying that it wasn't likely that AW would get a MAX contract, but not the no trade thing. Anyways, I'll check on it and get back to every one. PS, Phillyfan22: Danny's not as stupid as people paint him to be. I'm still at the point where I have to afford him the benefit of the doubt. ^I think it's true. That is why last season Antoine Walker was complaining to the press about how Danny Ainge lied to him and traded him. If you can find otherwise it would be great.
Actually, you're almost both right. Ainge made some comments right after they were swept by the Nets after the 02-03 season to the effect of "at this point in time" I don't see a need to trade Antione Walker. The idea was in people's heads based on comments Ainge had made about Walker when he was a broadcaster. A month or so later, Ainge was asked the same question and he said something along the lines of "I'll trade anybody if the right deal presents itself." Ainge never came out and said anything about Walker like he is saying about Pierce.
I don't get it, why trade pierce? someone as him is a player you want on your team, I mean their isn't much he can't do!

Well, CV likes conspiracy theories too. In all honesty, I find May, for the most part, to be a hack who simply finds anything he can to spin the negative towards the C's. He doesn't like Ainge and has been pretty upfront about it in his writting.

It's not like it doesn't make sense. He actually reiterated what I said earlier in this thread. I for one believe that PP won't be traded, but my name is not Danny Ainge so anything can happen.
