Damn. He's a good player, but would he even start for us? This is looking a little like the Juwan contract thing. I'm pretty sure Spurs won't match it.

I'm pretty sure that Orlando signed him for a trade of some sort.

"Weisbrod said the free-agent market is "so thin" that the Magic might sign the best free agent or free agents they can, regardless of position, to perhaps move later in other deals."

Personally, I hope Magic trade him if he signs with them...

He's a good player, but like sportsrock said - Would he even start for us? We already have Pat Garrity, why would we need another F who is known for scoring? (Obviously Garrity isn't as good as Hedo is, but they both lack the aggressiveness for their positions)

I'd rather use that money to attract a SF or center, because theres a couple of other solid players out there for us.

From the lists I've seen theres other players that could fit on our roster, however other teams appear to have acted quicker -
Mark Blount (Most likely heading to Philly)
Erick Dampier (Wizards, Jazz, Grizzlies, and Pacers have expressed interest)
Antonio McDyess (Given his health has been cleared)

I suprised the Magic signed him for so much,if they wanted to trade him teams might be scared away because they would have to take that big contract.

He is a SF. We are loaded at SF though with Bogans, Hill, Dwight could play there. Mobley could also play at SF. I'd rather split it for a smaller named SF and a small name center.

He's a great player but I don't want(Like sportsrock said) Another Juwan on our team. We could trade him for a decent player to help us out maybe a SF or PF.

My bad, I ment SG. I'd rather land a player along the lines of Caron Butler and/or a backup center.

I'd love Caron Butler, but I don't want to give up Gooden for him.

    6 freakin years? [IMG]

I hope this isn't true. We need another big man. Cato and Declerq don't cut it for me.

There must be a trade behind this as we're going to be stacked at the guard and SF position.

    We need C/PF!!

The only bright side about this is Hedo can hit the outside shot every once in a while. Mobley and Garrity are our only reliable 3-pt threat.

Hopefully the Spurs match this offer. [IMG]

You're not paying him this much to come off the bench, thats for sure. Spurs will not match the offer.

Way too many years for a guy who is hated in San Antonio. He could become a good player for Orlando. Much less pressure than playing for the Spurs.

What the hell?! Why Hedo?? :-/
That contract is way too long... Does this mean we probably won't keep Stevenson?

hey crazytown....hedo's 3 point percentage was around 45% last season thats better than garitty and mobley. hedo is by far a better 3 point shooter than mobley and i think hes the same as garrity or better.

I dunno how I feel about this move. With the rumors of getting Caron Butler I think Turkoglu would be a waste. I agree with Tim and say we go after a big man to compliment Howard.

crazytown...you said hedo can hit the 3 pointer once in awhile and that mobley and garrity were more reliable 3 point shooters. i was saying turkoglu is more reliable than both of them and the stats prove so
