You get the Mid Level Exception every year I believe, as long as you're over the cap

Maybe it's just me, but does anybody think Hedo Turkoglu is worth 39 million dollars?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DirtySouth:</div><div class="quote_post">Did you read all the stuff that he said when he came over from memphis about he was out of postion at sf. That is why he was bad in memphis he couldn't cover any sfs.he doesn't have the the ball handling skills to drive past people far from the basket.he is turns the ball over to much when he trys faceup and drive. I agree with you that he can be a sf that brings energy because his defense is not good at all. g hill has a pretty good mid range game way better than gooden's.</div>

i think he has the lateral quicks to cover a 3, but he lacks the effort. here's my gooden anecdote, one game in toronto this year he ran back to half court to pick up and put on his headband in the middle of an offensive possession. the dude has problems but he?s in my opinion immensely talented.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting magicfandan:</div><div class="quote_post">Why do you think he will come off of the bench. Hedo is a 3 and Mobley is a 2. Please don't say Grant Hill will start at the 3. Bogans is more of a 2 than a 3 also. We needed depth at the 3 spot. Also don't you guys think that the Magic have looked into other players for the MLE. Personally I think they should have went after Mark Blount but maybe they could not get him for whatever reason unnown to us. Hedo could be the best player the Magic could have gotten for the MLE. Do you think it would have been better to get no one?</div>
Maybe I didn't think it out well enough.. But would it look like a Mobley/Stevenson Hedo/Bogans? Ok whatever thats fine and dandy.. But 40 Million? Hedo is not worth 40 million.. I am sorry thats just way to much money for him... He didn't have that much of an amazing season to be worth 40 million over 6 years... I am not taking a way from him at all, but thats just a little much.

I am the last guy that wants Grant Hill to make another ridiculous attempt at this comeback. I respect his effort. But this is just getting way out of hand and its putting us in cap hell..

I am not sold on over paying Mark Blount.. I am not. The ideal guy to go after in my personal opinion is Quentin Richardson. Before he signed with the suns, we obviously signed Hedo and moments later Quentin was announced as signing with the Suns. But Quentin could have great upside, he is a great shooter himself. And I think hes more of what we are looking for if we are shooting for future people. Like Dwight, Jameer, Bogans, Gooden, The additions in the trade. Hedo ain't hold himseld, 25. But I think with him, what you see.. Is what you get.. Not really defensively agressive..

Please don't get me wrong, I like what Hedo can bring to the table.. but I just don't see the amount of money they payed him.

You guys need to quit trashing my boy Hill. [IMG]

From people who have actually seen him play they say he's looked good and this will the time he FINALLY plays. Now whether it'll be the All-Star Grant Hill or not, we'll soon find out.

Give him one more chance!!

Although this signing is old, at this time I would like to state that this is 1 of the 3 worse contracts giving out in NBA History. It has to be up there with the Adonal Foyle signing and the much cheaper, but dumb Yogi Stewart signing.

[IMG] Do some research and you'll see that there have been much bigger contract blunders in the past. Granted, the contract is a bit big, but it's nothing worthy of being called one of the three worst contracts given out in NBA history.

Brian Grant is definetely one of the 3 worst contracts ever. His is way worse than Turkoglu's. Grant has never even been close to max worth.
