Many will say Shaq, mainly because of his size. In my opinion, he's not the most dominant. I think Garnett and Duncan are. They seem to be in their own league right now. I mean sure Shaq is a beast, but he doesn't put up numbers the way KG and TD do. It seems, right now, KG and TD dominate every aspect of the game. Both are team players, very hard to defend simply because of the fact that both are so great and they do so much out on the court.
Shaq is just an unmatchable player, and has extreme-little basketball skill. Therefore Garnett and Duncan are the Most Valuable PLayers and the most dominant players. And even Duncan isn't capable of domiating EVERY aspect, as KG does.

He has INCREDIBLE skills for a man his size, he isn't just all power, he is quicker then most people think, and he has great footwork for a bigman. Shaq is also an underrated passer, he passes extremely well on cuts to the basket, and he can throw an across court pass. I have not seen anyone in the league able to cover shaq, i'll say again NO BODY. I saw Karl Malone shut down Garnett in game 1 of the western finals, and he gave him fits from their on out.. Garnett is a given double double night in night out, but he's i wouldn't say he's dominate, or unguardable. Tim Duncan is dominate in the post, for sure... he's mastered that turn around bank shot, and he's been hitting it consistently for years now.. BUT he's guardable by only a few, shaq being one of them. SHAQ is not only a BEAST of man... people look past his skill level and think he just over powers people, anyone who knows basketball knows thats not true. Dominate in Order: 1) Shaq 2) Garnett 3) Duncan Garnett had a better season this past season then duncan... but, duncan was more dominate in his two MVP season then Garnett was that year... Duncan and Garnett are a close call.
Shaq does not have incredible skill. Sure he does have skills at his size but not incredible. All he's good at is his footwork, maybe a little with passing and that's it. He's nothing without the paint. He would impress me if he shot at least 70% from the freethrow line and was able to make a jump shot. All Shaq does is dunk, do that hook shot he does, and layups, thats it. And on the defensive end, Shaq is not as good as a defensive player as he used to be. KG is much better on the defensive end, same with TD.
I go with Shaq. He is the one player in the league that is impossible to stop. People are saying KG is impossible to stop, did anyone see him in the WCF against the Lakers? Malone shut him down and didn't let him play his game. Duncan isn't impossible to stop either. He has had times where he too, has been completely shut down. But, Shaq, on the other hand, is never completely shut down. He is constantly putting up good numbers night in an night out. So, personally, to me, it's Shaq. He's just so hard to shut down. KG and Duncan are good, but, they're able to be shut down. Shaq is almost impossible to due to his size. He's too big and too strong. This is why I think he is the most dominant.

Shaq is clearly the most dominant player in the game today. Saying Shaq has no skills just shows you dont know very much about basketball. Shaq has very good passing for a big man. Hes also fast for a man his size. He is very quick once he gets the ball in the post.( incase you didnt watch the finals). And clearly is a very accurate shooter ( not ft he sux at them) even if it is 3 ft from the basket. If thats so bad y doesnt KG go 3 ft from the basket? Cuz KG is not as dominant as Shaq. KG is prolly 3rd most dominant following Shaq and Timmy. Kevin Garnet is a better player Overall than Shaq because Shaqs past his prime and Kgs in his prime. But its clear that Shaq is still The MDE. And Duncan is better than KG. This was just Kgs best year. Timmy will be better next year trust me. EDIT: Before you say its Shaqs size is the only thing that makes him good y isnt your precious OLiver Miller The MDE? O ya Karl Malone a 41 year old man( way past his prime) stopping KG in the WC finals. Clearly the MDE wouldnt be stopped by a 41 year old man.

KG has much more talent than Timmy and I wouldn't be surprised that he stays better 'till the end of his career... Shaq is the most dominant in the leauge today... And just of one thing : Strenght... I recall Troy Murphy saying : He's like a wall where you have to push agains... And walls don't move... (well, something like that) When Shaq gets in position it's over, no one is able to match his incredible strenght... While you can still push Timmy and KG away... Not with ease, but it's possible... KG dominates with his enormous atheliticism for a big guy and Timmy with his great post moves and decent bank shot... But none can dominate as Shaq does... When he gets the ball everytime down low in a right position, he will score everytime... No matter with how many they're pulling him down...

Shaq is the most dominant basketball player in the league today. Free throws may be his kryptonite, but that's just one more foul closer to the opposition's penalty. KG can be stopped, or atleast contained for some time, same with KG, but Shaq cannot. People tend to overlook his skills overall thinking all he does is backing down in the post and his footwork. The Diesel is so quick for his size, and he has good passing skills. If Shaq wasn't so damn lazy, He could be putting up 28-30 points a game along with 15 rebounds too.
shaq is the most dominant, he's the mvp for some reason and he does have talent, why else did he win all the mvp awards for all of their championship. no one can match up against him, unlike garnett or duncan who can be defended easily or easier. sure he's big and all but when it comes to most dominant you cant say that shaq isnt.
size dosent make u dominate the complete package makes mur dominate 2 me its a 3 way tie between kobe tim duncan and kg kobe is my favorite player and i dont want to be bias towards kobe but he does have the complete package can score can pass can deffend and so can kg and duncan
KG no doubt the Love For the game he shows he can do it all what can Shaq DO he is getting old maybe he was the most dominant player in that one year where the lakers lost only 1 game in the playoffs but now he is to old and he is starting to complain and he doesnt got the love for the game anymore
I think Duncan is the most dominant in the game. Dominant, to me, means hardest to stop. See, dominant brings up the connotation of big and strong so a lot of people say Shaq (and I would agree through '02), but now Duncan has passed him. Duncan is dominant because he can counter whatever you throw at him. You can stop Shaq by preventing him from getting too low in the post (although very hard to do). I don't think a coach can tell his team how to stop Duncan, there's no strategy to do it. KG is close, too, he's probably #2 most dominant.
See people are finding ways to stop Shaq. Hack him and send him to the line. If Shaq was so dominant then how come people have figured out how to stop him? Sure he can score good but is he as good of a rebounder of KG? Is he a better scorer than KG? Is he overall better than KG or TD? Not now. I'm talking about now. Maybe in the past Shaq was most dominant, but teams have figured out how to stop him. Have KG and TD been stopped as many time Shaq has in the past couple season? I don't think so. KG and TD do it all. Shaq isn't as good of a defensive player as the two. Maybe on offense he's good, but he's not more dominant than TD and KG. Most dominant center, sure I'd say Shaq is. But we are talking about all positions and KG and TD are more dominant.

I know I'm a Kobe fan too, so I'm going to be yelled at for it, but Kobe isn't missing much at all to be the complete player. Being dominant in the paint is one thing...but being dominant in the game is another. Kevin Garnett has alot of talent...Duncan does too, and so does Shaq, but Kobe is unstoppable one-on-one, anywhere on the court. Dominance isn't waiting around for the ball to come to you in the paint, then turning your body to score...that's laziness. Kobe is dominant. Garnett is dominant. Out of the two, it's a close call.
