This is ridiculous. Shaq is currently the most dominant player and will always be untill he retires. No one dominates as good, as much, as consistent, as DESTRUCTIVE as Shaq, PERIOD. Come on, all of you who watched a game of Shaq should know this by now. It's common knowledge.

For you guys who say he is so dominant, what happens when he plays against, say, the Rockets? How about these stats...Game 2 of the playoffs...Shaq played 33 minutes and scored only 7 points, 7 rebounds, and shot 3-9 from the floor. Or...Game 5, he played 40 minutes and scored 12 points, 9 boards. Well, those are way below his averages...because he's playing against this guy named Yao Ming. Game 5 against the Spurs...38 minutes, but only 11 points. Game 2 against Minnesota...40 minutes and only 14 points. Game 3 against the Pistons...38 minutes, 14 points.

Now, I expect someone to come in here and say, "Well, Kobe didn't do much either" and try and prove me wrong...but considering Shaq is the strongest player in the league and has the most body mass I've ever seen (except for Oliver Miller, who is just fat)...he should be dumping in 35+ points a night. Dominance is measured on alot of factors, but one of those is consistency...Shaq is not consistent. Shaq grabs alot of boards...but when he doesn't jump for it, a PG usually crashes over him and lays it in...in his paint...where he supposedly "dominates" his game. Ask Billups, who did it consistently...or Parker, or Francis. Jordan, being 1/2 of Shaq's size, was consistent...and he would've at least had one 50+ point performance in the playoffs. Come on guys...can't blame Shaq's age, either...Jordan had a 50-point performance when he was in his final season with the Wizards.

Since everyone says Wilt was so dominant...look at him compared to Shaq. Wilt scored ruthlessly...and he pulled down 56 (or somewhere around that) rebounds in a game. He was skinny compared to Shaq, but he had a shot. Wilt had to compete against centers like Bill Russell...Shaq only has Ming, who shouldn't be scoring on him at all if Shaq's defense wasn't so bad nowadays. Duncan was defended by Malone...so was Garnett...so other than that, Ben Wallace was the only other threat all season long for Shaq. Someone explain to me why the so-called most dominant force in the NBA can't destroy guys like Nesterovic, Ervin Johnson, and Olowokandi in the paint. This is why I believe Shaq is turning into an expense more than he is an unstoppable force.

This is totally unfair... There is no way this is a fair/arguable topic... Topics like this should be shut down upon creation!! There is no way you can pick the most dominaNT for those of you who have spelling problems. I mean, Kobe absolutely dominates at the SG spot. TD-KG at the PF Spot. Shaq at the C spot... There really is no fair winner to this because not everyone is the same size... KG is obviously going to have mroe rebounds than Kobe. I mean, this is totally unfair for the smaller guys. Sad to see people actually come in here and argue over such a pointless topic as this. Just my $.02

So-called dominant force? You're actually mocking his label? Wow.
You're ignoring the games that Shaq dominates, which is 90% of them while cherry picking games when every player has bad games. You never even saw 20% of Wilt's games and yet you try to say it from a perspective that you saw all his games if not most of them. If you're saying the scrubs like Nesterovic and Johnson stopped him, then you're crazy. Jordan, the most dominant player of all-time, couldn't rip through the bad boy's defense and your saying these scrubs stopped Shaq or in other words, Shaq couldn't destroy them? [IMG] Garnett, Duncan, and Bryant are dominant, but they're not as dominant as Shaq. You talk like Malone is a dynamic defender. Garnett and Duncan did not get better defenders on them than Shaq, ESPECIALLY Kobe. There's a reason why Shaq was double teamed more than Kobe and why teams focus on hindering the ball from getting to Shaq's hands. You don't see teams quadruple teaming the 3 I mentioned when they want the ball and when they have the ball. Any NBA expert would say Shaq is currently the most dominant, which means your opinion would be nothing but worthless.

    well said

Realdealbneal: Your only posting Shaqqs bad games. What about that one game where Kobe took 53 shots and only made 9 of them.
