That is a huge contract but Boozer is definately worth it. I don't know exactly why the Cavs let him go. Boozer hasn't even reached his prime yet and he is playing at an all-star level. The guy is only going to get better and he is definately going to be tested playing against the big boys in the West.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting spark22:</div><div class="quote_post">I like this move for the Jazz, anyone saying that Carlos did the wrong thing for leaving the Cavs, wouldn't you leave for 68 millions dollars, I know I would. I'm just glad the Jazz got off of their pocketbooks and spent some money on a good player. Go Jazz!</div> If Carlos wanted big bucks, he should have played out the remaining year of his contract and the 700K he was set to earn. He wanted his money now, Cleveland did a good thing by letting him out of his final year so they could pay him money up front, and instead he's gone and stabbed them in the back. Money is one thing, but it still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. It's not simply a case of being a free agent and a team offering the most bucks.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MainEvent:</div><div class="quote_post">Well if Boozer stays at PF and have trouble guarding his man, can't him and AK switch it up on defense since AK is capable of being a PF? I mean it just makes sense. AK is an outstanding defensive player and he's got size so him and Boozer can switch it up on defense. It would make a lot more sense and it would be more effective I think.</div> But then again, Boozer won't be able to keep up with the fast SF's in the league. Whatever happens, he needs to develop his post D.
Boozer is a greedy guy, turns his back on cleveland... i hope he goes too jazz and breaks a ankle and it hurt all year so you guys can waste your money on a team that has no future in them.
Lol, I can see why you'd be pissed at Boozer, but that last comment wasn't nescessary. The Jazz are much better than the Cavaliers.
Right now yes.. But in the future? No.. why would you leave Lebron James!??! Are you stupid? For what? You leave the best hyped kid for money.. thats just stupid.. i cant wait for a jazz vs cavs game at home...
Another thing why blame Boozer for coming to winning team? The Jazz are a proven winner year in and year out. This year, without John or Karl, the team won 42 games and was only 2 games out of the playoffs in the west. They also raised their number of consecutive winning season to 21. The Jazz have had the same coach for the past 16 years. In the past 16 years how many coaches have the Cavs had? Too many to count? Maybe he was just looking for consistency like he had at Duke with Coach K? Can't blame him for that.

Utah may too good this year but still not shot at beating Kings or anything.
Lakers might not even be a winning team next year. You won't get enough value for Shaq. The Kobe thing is a question mark. If he gets traded to the Heat for instance, he'll the Lakers would get Odom, Grant and a pick. Thats not enough for them to contend in the West without Kobe. If Shaq wasn't asking/demanding a trade, then his value will be much higher.

If Boozer wanted to come to a winning team, he should have waited until the end of his Cavs contract. You're missing the point bigtime here, it's not like he was entitled to be an unrestricted free agent.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Deadlock:</div><div class="quote_post">Right now yes.. But in the future? No.. </div>Its hard to argue with that since you still have Lebron James but Boozer was a big part of the Cavs future. It is hard to replace a guy like him. The Jazz have a very bright future as well.
What remains to be seen is how Boozer adjusts to playing elite big men every night, something he didn't have to do in the East. He isn't a great defender, so that's something that will have to be improve over the remainder of the off-season.
