the suns are dumb they need a center and who do they sign qrich dont get me wrong he is a great player but excuse me dont they havre joe johnson who averaged after the marbury trade like 20, 5, and, 5 kinda stupid trade 2 me
^ I don't disagree that the Suns primary need is at C, but they believe that trading Marion or Joe Johnson will get them that C. There's no great C's in FA, nor were there any in the draft that really wowed, them, so where else is there to look but in the league itself? Thus their strategy (hopefully) is to stock up on good players and work out trades.
Alright, this was a good move by the Suns, but this just makes them another contender for the 8th seed. I don't see them being better than Memphis, San Antonio, Houston, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, Portland, Utah, or Sacramento. I still see them in the lower tier with Golden State, New Orleans, and Los Angeles Clippers. The West will be stronger next year than it has been in the past five years with Charlotte going to the East and New Orleans coming to the West. With any luck, the Suns might slip into the 8th seed, but that in itself is a bit of a stretch. They need to do a lot more than add Nash and Richardson. It sure would have helped if they didn't trade Luol Deng away for cap space. They'll be regretting that one.
Yea, I agree. They need to add more players than just Steve Nash and QRich. I also agree that trading away Deng to Chicago will come back to bite em. But, yea, they don't necessarily need a big man, or at least a good one. Look at Minnesota last year. Won without a legit center, granted having the league MVP does help though. Plus his supporting cast was good. But, I'm just making a point. It is possible to win without a superior big man. Dallas has been doing it the last few years. They're big men have consisted of people like Lafrentz and Bradley. Dirk is 7' but he doesn't play like it. So, it is possible to get somewhere without a big man. But, it's difficult in the West. Plus, the Suns needed more help than just Nash and Richardson.
Well if they ever did the Marion for Dalembert trade, Q is too short to be a SF, at 6-5 he'd be immensely undersized. Maybe Johnson would play at the 3... I suspect the Suns to make a big trade before the off-season ends.
It doesnt really make sense...wheres Joe Johnson gonna fit in? I thought he was their star of the future...but man, what a tandom...Nash/Richardson/Stoudemire, with JJ coming off the bench...the Suns are lookin real nice, and have likely jumped back into the Western playoff picture...
I just cant see Johnson as the one coming off the bench. Id suspect Q will come off the bench, or either Johnson, Q, or Marion will be traded. I would've invested the money into Boozer to play Center (I dont care if hes a bit under-sized), but I guess the Suns think they can trade for a Center. But I wouldnt trade Johnson OR Marion unless the return is very sexy.
