Scrub? Christie might not be at the peak of his abilities, but he certainly isn't a scrub. He has good size for a point guard at 6-6, is a great on-the-ball defender, and a good finisher on the break. His time in Sacramento has also made him a threat from three and a very good passer. However, there is doubt whether the Kings would be willing to take Howard. If they rid Christie for cap sakes, then Howard would not be a good choice. He has a long-term contract and is not cheap by any means.

I would NOT give up Juwan Howard and Nachbar for that scrub. </div> Eh? Doug Christie a scrub? I mean, on a team of pure shooters, he may not seem the best choice for SG, but Doug Christie is no scrub. He defends amazingly well, he's fast, versatile, dependable, and he is a threat from any range. Yes, he is a good choice, but I dont want Boki to get traded, I think he will develop into a great player, considering he's European, meaning he has a shooting touch. And since he plays with a "defensive minded team" he will, IMO, become better than the rest. Juwan Howard.. I wanna see how he does in the west, if we pick up Daniels, we'll have opponents working hard to defend every position. I think we now, might have a solid bench, with Boki and Gaines developing, all we need is that one, solid, Role-playing Point Guard. As much as I like watching Christie play (him and BJ are the only reason I watch Kings games), and as much as I would welcome a trade, if it involves Boki, then I wouldnt want him here.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">At the start of last season, Baker looked like a strong candidate for the MIP. He was averaging a great 11/8 I think, a great improvement over his previous season. However, his alcohol problems got the worst of him and he was ineffective for the rest of the season. If we can get him to back up Yao and play a small role off the bench, I feel he could be very productive and might push Weatherspoon into an even smaller role.</div>

I think Baker's gonna resign with the Knicks.

What do yall think of Mike James as our point? He has recently said Houston is his first choice of destination, along with Miami and the Lakers as other options...he is a steady point guard, distributes well and is a very good defender, and he also shot over 37% from 3-point range last year...I would like him a lot more than having Charlie Ward...

Didn't I mention this guy a week ago? [IMG]

I'd be fine with having James here, especially at this stage of the summer already. He would not be expensive to acquire, is a good passer and knows his role. We can give him a two year, $4 million contract or something like that.
