I like it. Bosh has shown last season that he could shoot the outside jumper with consistency last season and is quick enough to play small forward. If things go well, he could be like Kevin Garnett. That would allow Marshall to play the four and Araujo or someone to play the five. However, if Bosh plays the three to be part of a big frontcourt, the Raptors' top four guards (Carter, Rose, Williams, Alston) would find it hard to share time.
They should just keep Bosh at the 4. Yes, he is quick but he isn't nearly as quick as the league's quicker-than-average SFs and would have a hard time defending them, let alone quicker guys like Kobe/LeBron.

If Bosh cannot be fast enough to defend the afore-mentioned smaller players, he could always switch with someone who can. Besides, now that the Raptors are going to play an up-tempo offense, Mitchell would most likely opt to rest his players by playing the zone defense. If we do play zone, Bosh could get away with playing small forward.

I dont like Jalen playing the point, I think even Vince plays point better than him. Alston should start at point if CB4 moves down to the 3 then we can have Araujo and Marshall as our starting frontcourt. CB4>New KG?

He is turnover-prone and is not a natural point, no matter how much he wants to be. If Alston and him share the point as you stated, I would rather Alston start. If that does happen, Rose would get grouchy and demand a trade. Now, if the Raptors oblige, they would seriously get ripped off. If they don't, they will be stuck with an unhappy for God knows how long.
Bosh isn't suited for the 3. He can't guard the other SF's because his defense is more of guard and wait for the swat defense. Marshall and Bosh are both outside shooters, but Bosh is more of inside threat than Marshall, because Donyell isn't as versatile as him. Keep Bosh at the 4. Chris Bosh will suffer at the 3 spot if he starts or plays the posistion in regular season games. You don't fix anything if its not broken (Chris Bosh not the Raps).
this would really give us a great option in the post, posting up SMALL-forwards...CB4, Marshall can all score easily with smaller players on them in the post, and if they switch up to bigger players Bosh can blow by them with ease.
This is a joke. I'm ok with trying for new things but if Bosh plays the 3 next season that will be terrible. He doesn't have any range consistency, I don't see why he can't be a PF but play like a SF on offense (still within the PF boundaries), and a PF on defense. You can't teach size in the NBA, and everyone knows how important the PF and C are to many teams, so I think Bosh should just stay at the 4. I know the article was just examining the possibility, but I hate the thought of it anyway.

Switching a team that played Man-To-Man defense for the past 3-4 seasons into a team that plays Zone defense is going to be a tough challenge. Besides, zone doesn't work for every situation, as it is primarily used to prevent the other team from driving and penetrating. You pointed that Bosh could always switch with someone who can defend the quicker players, but who is the "someone" going to be? More likely than not, it would be either of the two guards - which means Bosh will have to guard one of the two guard positions, and of whom will more likely be quicker than the SF.

remember they played kg at the three and joe smith at the four, i think they are revisiting those early t.wolves days. i like the move it gets the raptors some flexibility especially if they trade vincent.
Bosh should play the four. Who goes from Center to SF? Bosh is a four but, he "can" play the 3 and the 5 if necessary.
Marshall played the 3 in Utah because he's an outside shooter. He does not have good enough versatility or defense to guard the 3 in the NBA. Bosh has a better chance at stopping the 3, but he's no KG.
I don't think the Raptors are stupid enough to let Bosh start anywhere else but the 4 and maybe the 5. But I do like the idea that he may be able to play the 3 for short stretches at a time. If he was used somewhat like KG (playing more than one position throughout the game) is used in Minnesota it would not hurt the Raptors at all. As an added bonus, by adjusting his game to guarding/attacking small fowards it might help his game when he starts guarding/attacking power fowards. It would definitely force him to make his moves on offense and defense faster.
I'm not surprised with this suggestion considering it's by The Star. How can you say he should play at the 3 based on one game? The 4 is the most suited to him and it should be the position he marvels and builds on.
Chris Bosh's future as at Power Forward. Why move Bosh from what is a weak position for us to what is a strong position for us? It makes no sense. Bosh will stay at the 5 untill Araujo is ready to start, then he'll move to the 4 and push Marshall out of town or to the bench.
This certainly isn't a move to start him at the 3... chances are... he's just practising playing SF, so that come game-time... if they want to go with a bigger lineup, Bosh will have a little more experience playing in a different role. I wouldn't look too deeply into it... they're just playing with their options. (IMO)
