<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MINNEAPOLIS, July 10 -- The Bobcats capped an undefeated week with a 78-74 win over Detroit in the de facto championship game of the Minnesota Summer League. Both Charlotte and the Pistons entered the contest with perfect 4-0 records. "I wanted the guys to win this game because we worked so hard over the last two weeks," said Gary Brokaw, the team?s coach for the game. "Our guys showed they can hang in there and withstand some runs from a good Detroit team and close them out. At halftime our guys got together defensively and decided that we weren?t going to lose this game." Gerald Wallace followed up his 29-point performance on Friday night with 23 points against the Pistons and Loren Woods contributed 16 points and a week-best 16 rebounds. Charlotte started off quickly once again and jumped out to a 12-4 lead, but Detroit came back to tie the game at 16-16 late in the quarter and then hold a 19-18 edge at the end of the first quarter. Wallace scored eight points in the opening period and the Bobcats shot .533 (8-15) from the field. Detroit scored the first three points of the second quarter to go ahead by four points but the Bobcats responded to reclaim the lead and held it the remainder of the half. Charlotte had a 39-37 lead at halftime and held the Pistons to .371 from the field while hitting on .516 from the field. Woods nearly had a double-double in the first half with nine points and 10 rebounds, including seven rebounds in the second quarter. The third quarter was close until the Bobcats went on a 9-0 run to break a 47-47 tie and claim a 56-47 advantage late in the period. On Charlotte?s possession, Jason Kapono converted a three-point play on a putback for a 76-72 lead to seal the win. Wallace added nine rebounds and five steals and Kapono contributed 11 points. The Bobcats completed their first-ever summer league activity with a 5-0 record in the Minnesota League with wins over Detroit, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Minnesota and Toronto. The club was paced by Wallace, who averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 1.4 blocks and shot .569 from the field. Woods averaged 10.0 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks during the week and shot .625 from the field. Tamar Slay, who sat out the final game with a mild calf strain, averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. "I?m proud of our guys for their performance this week. They did what they were asked to do and that was to compete, to defend, work hard, share the basketball and they didn?t panic," Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff said. "You keep things in perspective but the guys can see if they do what?s asked of them they can have success with it." Charlotte will take part in the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City from July 16-23.</div> If Woods or Wallace don't make the roster, I will buy a plane ticket to Charlotte and slap Bernie Bickerstaff across the head. Loren woods was great and these stats prove it: 10.0 PPG, 9.4 RPG, and 3.2 BPG. Go Bobcats!
Trust me, they WILL make the team, Bernie isn't that crazy (I hope), then again the Diouf guy didn't even make the summer league roster..oh well.

That's the reason he didn't make the summer league roster. Looked like he had potential to make the team too. I would have liked to see how he would have played in this summer league. White = out, Woods = in
