The proposed deal by Miami according to ESPN is that they would give up Odom, Grant (Has to be in the deal becuz Miami wants to unload his contract... which I don't care about becuz this will give the lakers cap room in the near future),Caron Butler AND a future first round pick (but I would much rather have Dorrell Wright now. Someone made a thread that said only Odom and Grant were in the deal and its wrong. The lakers will definately ask for more than just odom and grant so there is no way the lakers will trade unless a third player is added and maybe also a draft pick. It looks like Shaq doesn't want to be in LA and they would be dumb to trade within the Western Conference so if I were the lakers I would pull off this trade since its the best offer right now. What do you guys think of the deal?
From the Lakers standpoint I don't like this trade. However, the longer the Lakers keep Shaq, the more time they give Kobe Bryant to think about leaving. The problem is many teams aren't willing to give up any other dominant players for Shaq like Nowitzki, Wade, etc.. because they know the tight spot the Lakers are in. In my opinion, the Lakers front office is full of retards and I wouldn't be surprised if both Kobe and Shaq are gone come next season.
I like it. Kobe stays! Also, we will be a very exciting team next year. GP, Kobe, Sasha, Rush, Malone (maybe), Odom, Grant, Butler, Fisher, George, and hopefully Dampier fomr FA... or even Swift sometime if we clear some room.
