I'm going to see Eddie Jones and Shaq back together!! just when I liked the Lakers back in the day..when Chicago was still good I was like the Lakers will be great..but then I just hated the Lakers after that Championship..Eddie..Van Exel..Shaq..ahh those were the good days...

I think Odom can play PF in the west..and grant too..and Butler is a great addition..if you get to sign Dampier..

PG- Fisher/Payton/#1 pick in a few years [IMG]
    SG- Kobe/w/e
    SF- Butler/George
    PF - Odom/Grant
    C - Dampier
thats a good team if u ask me..

Lol, I don't know why I'm saying this, get Dennis Rodman! He's still playing lol! He's a awesome reboundner, not as good as before but still good.

I don't think the lakers can get Dampier for free...they need to trade someone (i.e. Odom, GP, George) to get dampier (via sign n trade)

Now the Lakers have three SF's and two aging PF's with no dominant C to attract attention away from you.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting RiverspoonJones:</div><div class="quote_post">How can you sign Malone, Fisher and Clark when you only have one MLE?</div>

First- You can divide the MLE up.

Second. Lakers have bird rights on Fisher, so thats not a problem. Malone could take all or part of the MLE. And Clark could be signed for the veteran minimum.

    Thats what he was saying...

I know... Maybe I should've added a smiley to my post so you guys would understand it was a joke? C'mon... I'm much smarter than that... I wouldn't expect Dwyane in LA unless it was Kobe being traded, which thank God it's not that way.

That's not a lottery lineup, not even in the West. That's a ton of offensive talent between Kobe, Odom, and Butler. That could be a very dangerous threesome in the West next year I think. I don't think the Lakers are totall screwed next year. They got a good deal out of Shaq, granted I might be one of the few who think this. But, with the 2 players they get from Miami to go along with Kobe, that's a lot of offense. And, the best thing about it, it's YOUNG talent. That's something the Lakers were really lacking last year. Now, with those two coming in, it makes the Lakers younger and makes them a very versatile team I think. Plus, they'll also be fairly deep. With Rush, George, and some other miscellaneous people off the bench, the Lakers might actually have a descent bench next year. So, I don't believe that they are lottery bound. That line up is still very good and I still believe they can at least finish top 6 with it.

Maybe they will have some offense, but check what you have listed for
center and power forward. I love Odom, but even at his size, I think he plays
more of a small forward game. Then you got about 120 years with Grant, Divak
and Malone. Pretty weak inside team, not a good conference to be weak in.
And don't forget about the moves Houston, Phoenix, Memphis and New Orleans.

Hey, It's gonna be tough for my Mavs too.

Phoenix still has no legit big man. Amare can be guarded by Brian Grant or Lamar Odom fairly easily. The Hornets are going to be dead meat in the West unless Jamal Magloire becomes a beast. Baron Davis and company could hardly compete in the East last year, they're doomed if they keep the same team out West. Houston could have chemistry problems for all we know. TMac and Yao very well could become the next Kobe and Shaq. Looks good on the court, but than you get the arguments off court about whos team it is or someone isn't getting enough touches. All that crap could come into effect. So, who really knows how next season could go. All we can do right now is speculate. We don't know for sure how good anyone is going to be and how all these new lineup changes for teams will work. Personally, I think the Lakers will be fine as long as they get someone descent at center cause I don't know if Grant has the size to play there in the West. That's my only concern with the Lakers next year. Outside of that, I believe they'll be good.
