Im starting it and I hope the rest of the DWO will get on board....I want the next coach of the Miami Dolphins to be Jim Bates!! I love the way the guys play for him, I think hes the leagues next coaching superstar....Saban is ok, but hes expensive, stubborn and wants full control.....Im all for Bates at head coach, Trestman moved to O-Co and the promotion of someone within the team as D-Co....
That game on MNF was incredible, and the fact that the team has not quit (ala Cleveland) shows me a lot. I think Bates would be a good candidate. The only problem is, I think there might be a need for full-blown change. Just scrap it all up, and start from scratch. If I was the DOlphins, I would go after Brad Childress. He is familiar with AJ, and would also make a good coach IMOP.
I agree w/ Beef. There is just something about Saban that doesn't sit well w/ me as I've noted elsewhere in the forum. It may be the 'phins hiring someone who has been away from the pro game for a while & his needing total control. There has got to be an offensive co-ordinator (Brad Childress in Philly, Linehan in Minnesota, or even Shea on Chicago) that would be a better fit than Saban. Bates, I think, would not make dramatic changes. I really think its hard to see what he'd do w/ a bad O line & virtually no running game.
