anyone watching the summerleague games? sasha is amazing i love it, but he would be kobes backup right?
Sasha is definitely something special. He's a 6'7 combo guard but he's gonna be playing point for the Lakers. I really wish that GP will stay so he can help groom Sasha into an amazing point guard.
I haven't been able to catch any summer league games, mainly cause I don't live in the LA area and I don't get NBA TV. But, from what I've heard he has done quite well. Hopefully it carries over the regular season and he becomes a good back up point guard/shooting guard for us.
Sasha Vujanic is the man, he has amazed me in every single aspect of the game. Sasha was one of the biggest sleepers in this years draft,(ex.Jameer Nelson, Royal Ivey, Josh Smith)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace:</div><div class="quote_post">^Add Trevor Ariza to that list. My man's gonna be great </div> Trevor Ariza is my BOY! He is incredible. Did you see some of those passes the other day? WOW. He's got quite a future ahead of him.
Yes yes, Trevor Ariza is one of the biggest sleepers also. I'm so sad he left my school too early though I will miss seeing him play in those blue and gold uniforms... actually come to think of it, he didn't even play that much here in UCLA due to his lung problems
yes knicksanalyst but thats not what you were saying in the knicks forum immediately following draft day =P and i wouldnt say nelson is a 'sleeper'...people know hes gonna be solid...but hes never gonna be a superstar...the true underrated sleepers and i've been saying it since the early entries were announced and i was tracking where players were projected were gonna be dorrell wright, trevor ariza, and rickey paulding...all 3 performed way above expectations in summer league play... i also saw sashas first game in the SPL...and wrote a very lengthy and detailed post on my evaluation of his game (its posted in the lakers skybox)...he was more than i had hoped for (i had no real gauge of his abilities because i was not able to see him play before hte SPL game)...but i think he is going to develop into quite a steal...but yah rickey paulding / dorrell wright / and ariza are the 3 sleepers of the draft...nelson and ivey not so much...and josh smith could turn out to be something nice in the future but to me it seems more likely than not that all he'll ever be is a super athlete that never developed his skills...
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">yes knicksanalyst but thats not what you were saying in the knicks forum immediately following draft day =P </div> Yes I know.... BUT That was before I noticed his passing ability and his outstanding defense. He is so capable...LOOK AT THESE STATS! Trevor Ariza: 37.5 mpg 21.5 ppg (15/25 FG's, 13/17 FT's) 6 rpg 2 apg 0.5 bpg 3 spg 7 total fouls 9 total turnovers Not too bad if you ask me
yup yup...hes gonna be a good one...its always nice to see people changing their minds so that i can say... I TOLD YOU SO SUCKA!!!! haha jk =P
Sasha's great! I love it. It's pretty cool, too, cus everyone else watching the summer league games are really into Sasha. He got the loudest ovation in the player announcements and people kept on yelling out "Sasha" during the game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Quickness:</div><div class="quote_post">sorry i'm lost is this the sasha from this site?</div> No its Sash Vujanic(sp?) the guy the Lakers drafted. I personally dont see how hes gonna do until I see him in a REal NBA game
yeah, i just thought that hes doing awesome, but it is summer league and there is no kobe or t-mac to guard him. kareem rush did this good in last years summer league and for the limited minutes he got in my opinion he produced, and he was kobes backup.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Quickness:</div><div class="quote_post">sorry i'm lost is this the sasha from this site?</div> thats exactly what I thought when I saw the thread.

I TOLD YOU SO SUCKA!!!! haha jk =P</div> Well Ariza is great in the sense that he is a versatile player with his passing, shooting, and driving to the hoop. His courtsense has been earth-shakingly good and his prescense on the court has been unmatched by anyone on the team with the obvious exception of Mike Sweetney.
i watched one laker summer league game and sasha, your pimp was trying to fight devin brown of the spurs.
