Boozer, speaking exclusively to The Plain Dealer by telephone Monday, said that is not true and he wants to set the record straight. </div>

Thoughts? Surely they wouldn't have made up something like that verbal agreement.

If Boozer's hands are clean, I'd love to know why his agent resigned.

What I still don't understand, is why any team would be stupid enough to risk releasing him like they did without some sort of agreement. With the sheer amount of teams with cap space this off season, Cavs management would have had to have been blind, deaf and dead twice over to think it was a risk worth taking. Someone was always going to offer big money.

From what I hear, they(Cavs management) took the risk because they didnt want Booz & Big Z to become free Agents in the same year next season and risk loosing both for nothing. And Battie has a player option as well, so it would be very possible that the Cavs could have lost all their legit big bodies next year for nothing, they didnt want to face that situation.

I agree tho, because the Cavs should have gotten the vibe that teams were going to throw alot of money at a select few in this years Free Agent class because their just wasnt that many must have free Agents in this years crop, so certain cats are going to get overpaid.

Huh? I have't heard the Cavs say one thing negative about Boozer? All I've read was alittle short 2 sentence paragraph from Paxon just saying he's dissapointed he's leaving? All the bashing is comming from the media, fellow players, and YOUR OWN F%^$ING AGENT! You have no legs to stand on Boozer, everyone see's right through you. Just shut up and take your no defense ass to Utah already. We'll see you when you come back to Cleveland with a bag full of batteries. Can't wait to see you.......

"But during that meeting, it seemed like they were going down the road of wanting a commitment," Boozer said. "My agent pulled out the collective bargaining agreement, and he said that the rules don't allow a verbal or written agreement and everyone at the table understood that. During the course of that meeting, it was brought to my attention that [management] weren't going to pick up the option. They made that [decision] on their own."

Boozer said he had no idea why they Cavs didn't pick up the option.

"Maybe with me telling them that I wanted to be in Cleveland and wanting to have security could've made them believe I was going to sign with them, but that wasn't an agreement," Boozer said. "I never gave them my word, never signed a document and I never shook hands with the idea that I was going to sign."

The two parties met again on July 1. Boozer said this is when Paxson told him what the midlevel exemption was worth. During the Fourth of July weekend, Boozer met with Cavs management and they continued to discuss his future, and they talked about his role with the team. This was the turning point during the negotiations.

"During those conversations, I asked those guys about my role on the team, and I expressed to them the direction I wanted to go individually and with the team," Boozer said. "I wanted the chance to become an All-Star and some [in the meeting] didn't think I could accomplish that here. One primary person didn't believe I could."

disguisting. absolutely disguisting. man. the guy is either extremely stupid or extremely smart. He sounds like a complete idiot in this quote. "I don't know why they wouldn't pick up my option." Made him look like he couldn't think why they would do such a thing like keep him around for cheap. Some of his statements don't even make sense. He's totally lying out of his ass. I hope he gets what coming to him.
