The 1.80 meter (6 ft, 3 ins) Liu will be invited to try out for the Kings in September following the Athens Olympics, Sina.com said on its sports website.

He will also play for the NBA team during two pre-season games in Shanghai and Beijing against the Houston Rockets in October, the report said.

The two pre-season games will be the first-ever National Basketball Association games in China.

Liu has played for the Shanghai Sharks in the China Basketball Association and once teamed with NBA All Star Yao Ming, when he also played for the Sharks.</div>

Well, I guess the fashion right now is no longer European players, NBA teams have trained their focus on Chinese players right now mainly because of the success of Yao Ming, but also from a marketing POV. With a 1.2 billion population base in China and millions in North America, having a Chinese player on your team can greatly boost jersey sales. Don't be surprised to see more Chinese players get chances with NBA teams.

it's sad, but i think i have to agree. everything is way too commercial. i thought the kings would be after a center or a defensive player. they already have bibby and jackson at the point.
