The San Antonio Spurs renounced their rights to small forward Hedo Turkoglu today, making him an unrestricted free agent and allowing him to sign the previously agreed upon, six-year, $39 million contract with the Orlando Magic. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic It looks like a done deal. What do you guys think?
Well I wish the contract was smaller, because I like Turkoglu a lot. He just isn't worth that kind of money.
There have been some awful contract signed this off-season. Foyle , Blount and Okur to name a few. This just adds to the list. How much you want to get at least 3 of these teams will have a tough time trying to pawn these players off a few years from now because of their ridiculous contract. THis is just bad business IMO. At least Blount actually played decent during his contract year. Foyle and Hedo haven't done jack squat.
^^^ I don't think that Orlano could have landed Blount, Foyle, Okur and the bunch with being over the cap and the worst team in the league(statwise). Magic's Gm is just going to have to focus on trading, most likely moving Gooden and the Turk sometime in the future for another center...
I agree. John is just trying to rebuild this team and Turkoglu will likely be sent packing in a trade.
I don't see Hedo getting traded. WHy would he sign and then get traded soon after? When has that ever happened? Maybe during mid season or next off-season he will. But not now.
