<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pierce would be good for the Clippers, if they can't pick up Kobe.</div> Pierce isn't a FA like Kobe. Pierce is the franchise right now. 95-99% of all Boston fans adore the guy, even while commenting on his shortcomings. Doc wants to coach him and right now, Danny's not going to get what Pierce is worth, because too many people in the press think that Danny is going to screw it up, so they've made a lot bigger deal about any trade rumors surrounding him. Even if Ainge was interested in trading Pierce, he would cmoe off as desperate and that no position to be in at the bargining table.
Pierce will be traded along with a future draft pick to the Clippers who will then send prospects and cash considerations to the diamondbacks to bring RANDY JOHNSON to BOSTON!!!!!! WS BABYYYYYYY!!!!!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hagrid:</div><div class="quote_post">It's easy to name call. How about providing some background SUBSTANCE/REASONING to your comments?</div> The whole Boston team that was great about 2 years ago has now vanished and Pierce and maybe 2 other players, bench players, are the only ones left on that team. There's your proof. But then again, I don't follow Boston like you do. So, I'm just going by what I see on TV and read online.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The whole Boston team that was great about 2 years ago has now vanished </div> With good reason too: First, that team wasn't "great", just better than previous years. A great team would be defined as one that had a chance to win the Championship. That team held no such promise. Second, It had gone as far as it could. That's not proof, that's a DOBO doing his job and restructuring a team that was on the decline. As much as I like Walkers talents, he had a bad attitude when Danny took over, basically refusing to change his style of play to better suit the teams needs. I'm not in the least sorry that Jim O'Brien isn't here anymore. Now he can ride the coattails of AI to mediocrity, rather than wasting our time doing it to PP in Boston.
Why would the Celtics trade Pierce? That would be the dumbest transaction in Celtic history. If he is suppose to be traded, then it better not be for Carter. It doesn't make sense to me. He's a notch below Carter when Carter's fully healthy, so he's better off being dealed for a package of solid players, picks, and cash.
true story You can understand why Ainge traded Walker. He was never gonna be a player that could carry the celtics, but the trade he made was awful, that's why the fans were so pissed. I think my dead aunt could play better.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Danny told everyone he woudlnt trade antoine walker and look what happen</div> I always find it funny how people twist stories to meet thier needs. Danny Ainge never said he wasn't going to trade AW. At the time when he was asked, they brought up the comments he made while broadcasting. He said he wasn't actively shopping Walker as he didn't see any reason to at that time. He also said that he didn't see Walker as a MAX contract player. At the time when that interview was taken, Ainge hadn't even sat down with Walker to discuss the future yet. As I mentioned in another post earlier in this thread, it wasn't until DA and AW sat down that the realization came that he had to be moved,(rather than just finding a way to coexist) because Walker basically refused to change his playing style to better suit the teams needs. And yes, I think DA could have gotten more out of the trade, mostly because of Raef's health. If Raef's healthy, it's a push, because half the teams in the league have called with interest in Jiri.
Danny Ainge seriously screwed the Celtics, and Walker's 03-04 season. They had something going after the '02-03 season, and Walker fitted in nicely with the offense-he was an allstar! If Ainge trades Pierce theres no explanation for whats going on in his head, I think at this point Pierce's value exceeds Carters for sure; Carter is talented but is not as durable as he once was
