The truth hurts, doesn't it? Don't worry, the 1st step is admitting your denial. [IMG]

Here, I pulled out two parts in the early parts of the article....

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He has two Hall of Fame years left in him, maybe three, maybe four.

Shaq would have settled into the old "David Robinson after Duncan came aboard" role -- happy to step aside, happy to contribute his 19-11 every night, happy to collect his eight-figure paycheck, always ready to step out of the phone booth with the Superman cape on for emergency duty.</div>

I dunno about those statements...what is he basing it on?

I think he meant that if Kobe hadnt got himself into court trouble, he would had been the role player for Lakers, and Shaq will be stepped aside like David Robinson exactly when Duncan came into the league

Shaq would never have 'stepped aside'. Hell he won't even admit that he's lost a step or two.

As evidenced by his, what was it... 3-12? run without Shaq in 02-03?

That team was a horrible team. Its would have made last year's Magic team look good. There was no one available aside from Kobe that could do anything without Shaq. Now that Odom and Butler are on the team, we'll have a much better time.

Only an ignorant fool would think Kobe would be the next Penny. Lakers were 5-9 without Shaq 02-03. Kobe's overall record without Shaq is above .500. Shaq's record without Kobe is around the .500 mark as well.

    I seriously doubts that's true.

My boy T-Mac? You know he got traded right? Sorry, I stopped being a fan the second the trade became Official. I'm a Magic fan, not a T-Mac fan. I don't jock players like you. I grew out of that when I was 13. [IMG]

So trash him all you want.

BTW-I'll bet Kobe never gets anywhere in his career without the Big Diesel. Just like Penny. Hence the Penny comparison. Not comparing them talent-wise.

There's more proof. That entire post shows how much you jock Kobe. Do I have to spell it out for you? Look OUTSIDE[/B}]the box, kid.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This coming from someone who thinks Grant Hill will be the comeback player of the year next year We will see where he is in 2 years...</div>

What does that have to do with anything? [IMG] Doesn't that back up even more of the fact I'm a Magic fan and don't jump bandwagon? I'm believing in a guy who's been out for more than 3 years.

If you're gonna make a point then explain more clearly. [IMG]

And how'd they do in the Finals? Oh that's right, they were the 1st team in NBA history to be in a 5 game sweep. [IMG]

BTW-I bet the Magic have an equal or better record than Lakers this season. Especially when Kobe bolts for the Clips.

That sound you here? That's all you bandwagon Laker Fans jumping on the Clipper wagon. [IMG]

Shaq wasn't the only player injured at that point, plus Kobe won't be alone this time. He will have guys like Grant, Odom and Butler to help him out, you do know that right? It's kind of different when you actually have a supporting cast.

Let them jump...better for us...yea we may of had our asses handed to us in teh finals...atleast we can sya we got into the finals, even the playoffs and didnt have a 19 game losing streak...Let Kobe bolt for the Clippers, I think he will sign there too but the Magic still wont be better...GP's game will be back because Phil is gone, Caron will be back and better than ever he wont have to deal with nagging injuries hopefully, and Odom already proved he can ball...he will only get better...you have a potential star in Dwight Howard who wont make a sudden impact, Steve Franchise who whines all the time and wont do the Magic any good, and Cuttino Mobley...as of right now I would take Odom/Butler/GP over Franchise/Dwight/Cat...

So all of the posters on JBB that have a username that involves a player are jock riders right? So Custodian Rules is one...all of the ones with "The Answer" in there? they are all jock riders right...it isnt jock riding...it is showing love for your favorite player..jock riding is when you defend every little thing they do and make it look like they did the right thing...

So, it's all on one player to carry a team? Go look back at what the Lakers had that season, basically no supporting cast at all. No one can do it alone, I mean no one. The closest a player has come to doing it alone was Tim Duncan, and even he had a great supporting cast. Plus he still had David Robinson by his side.

Look at Ray Allen for example. He has a pretty good supporting cast and he is a hell of a player, but he hasn't gone anywhere with Seattle so far. He needs help in the front court, and that is exactly what Kobe needs when he isn't playing with Shaq. Compare what kind of support he had around him last season, and then to what Kobe had without Shaq that year. You figure out the rest.

Indeed it was. What many ppl fail to remember is that Shaq's return didn't get the team out of its funk...WITH SHAQ, they continued to lose up until the all-star break that year. Recall that Shaq lashed out at the role players that season for not making their shots...once the role players began to shoot the ball better, they began to win...
