The trade, sources said, is likely to be completed Thursday. It's believed that no other players are involved in the trade.</div>

    While being dissapointed, as this is a huge blow to the Nets, i am excited for the Nuggets. This team is stacked and only gets better as Carmelo and crew develop chemistry and talent. They should now focus on trading Nene for a 2guard, so they can take Lenard off the bench. As RiverspoonJones (i think it was him at least) suggested, Nene for Flip Murray and a pick looks do-able. The future looks bright for the Nuggets, I hope the Nets can get a suitable replacement for K-Mart though.

    If Martin wants to go, we don't need to want him stay.

    Nets has already paid to much useless money for Mutombo and Zo.If Martin wants the high price salary, Nets can considerate to let him go. I don't think Martin play not well, but his play level is just there.Although he is in progress, but most of his scoring is given by Kidd.

    Now Nets should save the money to Martin, until the salary to Mutombo is over, Nets can use the money to strong the team, strong the long shooting area, sign Ray Allen.

    To say the truth, if we still have Martin, Nets just maintain the same lineup.
    But if we have Nene, it's not bad. Nene is bigger than Martin , to strong the painted area. To say tbe truth, as long as Kidd is still in here, we don't need to worry about his teammates play not well.

    I love this new lineup.

    C:Kristic <==== 7"1 new strong center.
    PF:Nene <==== 6"11 big man, could has nice perform with Kidd.
    SF:Jefferson <==== A olympic Small Forward, 50% shooting average, &fast.
    SG:Ray Allen <==== 3 point and scoring is very accurate.
    PG:Jason Kidd <==== NBA No.1 Point Guard.

    It will get the title. [IMG]

    Nets get the championship !!

    Thats a nice pipe dream you have there, not only are you dreaming of Denver sending you Nene for K-mart but also thinking Sonics will give up one of the best shooting guards in the NBA for NOTHING.

    Must be a NY/NJ thing uh.

    Good trade. I see good things happening with this in the future. Much respect to Kmart and what he has done for the franchise, but we all know he's not worth a max contract.

    Why is it impossible?

    Nuggets send Nene & somebody & 1st round pick is the 70% true news these days.

    O'neal and T-Mac also can be traded, who else can not be traded?

    Don't be a stubborn guy, if Nets save the much money, they can sign Ray Allen.

    Nets is the team near the title...Free Agrent Ray Allen maybe consider to leave Super Sonics.

    It's impossible because Kiki Vandeweghe has stated he will NOT trade Nene. Why is that so hard to understand? the deal is 3 draft picks for Kenyon Martin, no player is expected to be involved and even If there was, It would only be Skeeta that would land in NJ.

    Stubborn? you fail to realise how the salary cap works obviously. Even without Kenyon Martin's big salary the Nets would still be over the cap, which is why the Nets owner doesn't want Martin to return. Allen is expected to be a free-agent next summer where he will likely demand more than what K-mart has this year (90 million over 7 years) That is way out of New Jersey's price range.

    Without Martin the Nets are far more closer to the lottery than an NBA title.

    I don't believe with that. Nets need a power forward right now. If nene won't come, then Martin won't go.

    You expect Kiki to feel sorry for the Nets and let you take his young stud away? not a chance. NJ can take the offer of 3 draft picks or have to pay 20/30 million UP FRONT for K-mart while also paying him 84 million over 6 seasons.

    That is not what the Nets are looking to do. Why else would sign and trade talks be back on?

    then can you tell me, will Martin stay in NJ or trade to Nuggets?
    Or what is the most suitable power forward for nets next season.

    Or nets only has Jason Kidd + Richard Jefferson to struggle for the title ??

    Well obviously the Rat has no plans of matching so he just decided on draft picks instead of losing KMart for nothing. Well it's as if he knows anything about basketball.

    You just want to win? Yeah right. My sentiments exactly throwback.

    Done deal

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The New Jersey Nets have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Denver Nuggets that will send power forward Kenyon Martin to Denver in exchange for three future first-round draft picks, the Nets announced Thursday

    The picks coming from Denver include one of the Nuggets' own first-rounders, as well as a first-round selection from the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers that the Nuggets acquired in past deals. According to the Nets, included are the Clippers' first-round pick in 2005 (protected for overall picks 1 through 14) or '06, the 76ers' first-rounder in '05 (protected for picks 1-8), '06 (protected for picks 1-5) or '07, and Denver's first-rounder in '06 (protected for picks 1-5), '07 (protected for top two), or '08.

    Martin is expected to receive a seven-year deal worth more than $90 million from New Jersey before he is shipped to Denver. Denver is able to take on Martin without having to trade any payroll back because it is far enough under the cap to absorb Martin's first-year salary -- nearly $11 million if Martin gets the anticipated deal.

    The Nuggets will still have salary cap space remaining after the trade, though the exact amount will be determined by the structure of Martin's new contract.</div>

    Nets acquire three first-round picks

    Nuggets Acquire Kenyon Martin

    DENVER, July 15 -- The Denver Nuggets have acquired All-Star forward Kenyon Martin in a sign-and-trade deal with the New Jersey Nets, team General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced today.
    In exchange for Martin, the Nuggets sent three future first-round draft choices to the Nets. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

    "We are overjoyed to be adding a player of Kenyon?s ability," said Vandeweghe. "He is truly one of the elite power forwards in this league and will be an asset to our team and the Denver community. This deal could not have been made without the support and commitment from our tremendous owner, Mr. Stan Kroenke."

    Martin, 6-9, 234, averaged 16.7 ppg, a career-high 9.5 rpg, a career-high 1.46 spg and 1.26 bpg in 65 games for the Nets last season. In 11 postseason games, he upped his averages to 19.1 ppg and 11.0 rpg. He also earned his first All-Star Game selection.

    The former first overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft has spent all four of his NBA seasons with New Jersey, averaging 15.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 1.36 bpg and 1.28 spg in 283 contests. In 51 playoff games, he has averaged 18.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.37 bpg and 1.29 spg.

    I hope and pray that the administration is going to finally sign Kristic. I also hope they sign some reasonable free agent that can give the Nets some depth and fill in the void...Overall, I think that the Nets'll be alright.

    Nuggets will challenge the top 4 of the West now, if KMart fits in nicely. That is an insanely talented and balanced roster, the only way it could be better was if Flip and Nene are exchanged [IMG]

    It looks like you will seeing two new teams on the rise in western conference. Denver and Phoenix (Damn these teams are looking good) Its going to be great next season to see how all of these teams are going to play. Its going to be fun to watch Maimi, Phoenix, Denver, Orlando, Detriot (hope they sign wallace then they will be on the lock to win the title again with nearly no changes this off season but they did add McDyes), The New Lakers its going to be great. But not to great for my team the nets
