Kmart heading to Denver for three first round picks!!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After it looked as though talks between the teams had been extinguished, the Denver Nuggets are on the verge of completing a sign-and-trade with the New Jersey Nets for All-Star forward Kenyon Martin, league sources told ESPN.com. The Nuggets, according to sources, have agreed to send at least three future first-round picks to the Nets, who would sign Martin to a seven-year deal worth just over $90 million and then ship him to Denver. The trade, sources said, is likely to be completed Thursday. It's believed that no other players are involved in the trade

Maybe Atrain will play PF next season, and sign Ray Allen in 2006-2007.

I agree with u, Kiddfan2004 ! Nets has money to sign Ray Allen.

The Nets will probably not be focusing on adding a bigtime wing player this year or next, their main focus needs to be improving a frontline that just got 10x worst with the loss of K-Mart. Its hard to see how we can legitimately compete with Aaron Williams & Jason Collins both as starters on our frontline? So the Nets need some big bodies in a hurry

I am still in shock the Nets let K-Mart go(if this is true) so easily. I mean yeah we got three draft picks(well two actually because the Nets gave up a 1st round pick this year when thinking about re-signing Martin, so basically one of those 1st round pick is just getting back the 1st rounder we lost in a certain way) But the way the 1st round & draft in general, has been lately, if you dont get a lottery pick, its going to be hard to get someone that isnt a major project player. So its know telling if any of those picks will turn into anything.

this is one of the worst days in Nets history when they let one of their star players go with out any real compensation. Now i wish they did some real sign and trade for like Stromile Swift or someone that can sort of fill the spot of Kenyon. But now we are really in a rebuilding stage with no improvements at all this is going to be the worst. Unless they sign a decent PF in the free agents on market. Lets just sign Keon Clark, DeShawn Steveson or Toni Kukoc, Derek Fisher, and try to make a push for Stromile Swift and that should compensate for our loss.

Bad news...Nets roster looking kind of empty to me.
Nets need to get some free agents before it's too late

Very interesting. I'll have to agree with InNETSwetrust, this is just all too sudden.

Hmm, maybe they are just building for the future..? Although I thought their future was Kenyon Martin, but obviously not anymore...

    Wow

I am speechless...pretty good trade for both teams here. Nets will get 3 round picks(IMO that doesnt really matter) but they also free a lot of cap room. Hopefully K-mart develops his post game in Denver and not just getting easy dunks and oops from Kidd.

Yes, I'm mad, but at the back of all our heads, we expected soemthing like this to happen. There's only to look on now. Next year's draft is looking all right and we might be able to acquire some quality frontcour players (Hakim Warrick, Charlie Villanueva, Kosta Perovic). You remember what happened last time we had 3 first rounders. Time to keep our head up and wish the best for Martin but at the same time, excited.

I still say we'll make the playoffs with a healthy RJ and Kidd. Hey, maybe even be able to sign Stromile Swift as compensation, but I don't want to get any of y'all hopes up.

Man, that's a huge blow for Nets fan. That could take them out of the home court race next year possibly. Martin was a huge part of that Nets offense, it's going to be a lil different without him next for the Nets.

Denvers going to be a crazy team with martin and melo. You gotta admit this off season has gotten crazy. With Orlando, Maimi, Phoenix, and Detriot making their teams so much more stronger its going to be a great season to watch next year. Lets see what else the the off season can bring. The one we let go is going to bring intensity to the nuggets hes going to ignite a fire in that team expect them to be a more emotional team with more heart with Kenyon. Also I wonder how Jkidd feels about this cause I know this isn't what he signed up for now he deffinatly has no big man and RJs numbers are going to look so much better because they lost another go to guy. They better pick up somebody and soon before everybody is gone

If the nets have to part with Martin, they should get the draft picks and Nene. The nuggets are way over thier head with thier petty offers. Martin is a popularity player that brings in $$$ despite his play, and the GM needs to convince the Nuggets of that and get Nene in return.

If the Nets do not get any big bodies in return, I want to see them bring in Kristic this upcoming season. I heard that the guy can offer up some half-court game when the Nets are not running.

I will not be happy fan if Nets do not get proper compensation...
