I will go on record in saying Denver will be higher than both Dallas and the Lakers. I will be surprised if they aren't a top 5 seed.

Spurs, Wolves and Kings should be the top 3 seeded teams come playoff time.

    1. TWolves - They've kept everything in tact this season and they got Troy Hudson resigned to a long term deal, and he's also healthy. So, I find no reason why the TWolves can't capture the top seed again.

    2. Spurs - They've also got pretty much the same team from last year. So, I find no reason why they shouldn't be successful again next year.

    3. Kings - They're the Kings. They're always good lately. They will have a fully healthy Webber next year. Bibby is still there. Everyone is still ther. I think they'll be right with the best of the West again.

    4. Rockets - The acquistion of TMac could give them a duo that could be very good. I think they're good enough to get home court this year

    5. Lakers - This seeding is based on if Kobe resigns. If not, I don't know if they even make the playoffs.

    6. Nuggets - With KMart possibly coming in, that gives them a very good combo with Martin and Melo. Could be very good.

    7. Mavs - They still can't play defense. They brought in Stack, wow. Again, no defense there. They lost their court leader and might be going to a rookie point guard to lead them next year. Could be an up and down season for them.

    8. Undecided - There are a lot of teams that could go here. I'm really not sure who to lean to currently. When the offseason comes near an end, I'll have more of an idea.

I look at mine right now, and I realize I forgot Memphis. They are the missing team in mine. I think they make it at the 5 seed and that just bumps the ones from 5 down, down a seed. So, it's now this:

    1. Timberwolves
    2. Spurs
    3. Kings
    4. Rockets
    5. Memphis
    6. Lakers
    7. Nuggets
    8. Mavericks, Suns, Blazers

The 8 spot, to me, is still up for grabs now that I remembered about Memphis. I think that Utah will be in the race along with the Suns and Portland next year. That final spot, will once again be a tight race I think. Who comes out on top, I'm not sure. I think all 3 teams have a good chance. I can't really lean torwards one or the other right now though. Dallas has a rookie point guard and, once again, no defensive players. The Suns are young and might bring in QRich, which would allow them to either put him or Johnson on the bench for a great 6th man. But, again, they're young, and with youth comes a team who will likely make a lot of mistakes and it will also bring a lot of egos to the table and that could mess up chemistry. Someone, specifically Marion I think, needs to step up to be the leader of that team next year. Than Portland, essentially, has the same team as last year. Randolph is great and getting better. They have a project as a back up point guard who will get better as the season progresses. But, that team will be led all year by Randolph. I think, as he goes, the Blazers will go. They also need to hope Anderson stays healthy and that Damon stays away from the drugs. If they do that, I think they could contend for that final spot. But, who knows right now. It's all up in the air really. For all we know, the Lakers could shock everyone and take the top seed. All we can do right now is speculate. So, as offseason progresses, we could get a better idea of where teams could possibly land. But, right now, that's my thought.

    1. spurs- with the addition of brent barry and the improving tony parker and ginobilli and of course tim duncan, this team will be very hard to stop

    2. twolves- the same team last year that had the best record with a healthy troy hudson, the only reason i put them behind the spurs is because the spurs got barry

    3. kings- the kings now have a easy division, so they shud automatically get the third seed unless they finish ahead of the spurs or twolves, which i dont see happening

4.mavs- they're just always the team thats in the middle of the great teams.

    5. rockets- the combo of tmac and yao can only get scarier as they get nearer their prime

    6. nuggets- with the addition of kmart, this team adds another weapon to its already above mediocore front court.melo and kmart is like the second hand of tmac and yao

    7. jazz- boozer, kirelinko, kirk snyder,okur,humphris-all promising players that can become stars especially in boozer snyder and kirelinko

    8. toss up between the grizzlies and suns

surprised that so few mentions the Jazz..

    1. T-Wolves -I see nothing weaker about the team
    2. Spurs -Barry added, plus others like Duncan, Parker and Ginobili will be tough
    3. Kings -Well, the top 3 here will be tight..can't really say which team will be where
    4. Rockets -I'm putting them at 4 cos I really want to see how the team works at first, difficult to tell ..either total disaster or the opposite I'd say
    5. Grizzlies -I believe that these guys can do great things this coming season. This is J-Williams' year, behold
    6. Jazz -Boozer added, they will have more scoring options now as Arroyo is improving as well
    7. Nuggets -Hopefully they will get KMart, but they haven't yet...that's why I'm putting them here
    8. Lakers -They will manage the playoffs, but also a very insecure subject

+ Suns -Nash, Q-Rich added, they will be competing
+ Blazers -They have something great from last year

---> I'd say that these 8 spots could be any of these teams I've mentioned here, nothing is certain at this point IMO
