IF we sign Smush Parker I dont think house should start over him, but he will be a great player to the Bobcats and the clippers got sucked out of Ely because he is a great player and the clippers arent getting Kobe.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">Woods should be starting over Ely.</div> Are you joking? Loren Woods has shown absolutely nothing but disappointing things in his three seasons in the league. I don't think anyone will have trouble beating him out for the starting spot at center. In fact, I don't even think he'll make the team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">I guess you havn't been watching the summer league games then.</div> Summer league games mean nothing. Last year the big stars of the summer league were John Salmons and Qyntel Woods. Look at the great careers they've gone on to. The regular season is where you learn about players. Loren Woods had some of the highest expectations in the draft. He "slipped" <font size="1">(really a cheap move by the other GM's to give Minny a good pick)</font> to Minnesota, a team with no real Center. He showed nothing there. Then he went into Miami, another team lacking a Center. He showed nothing there. While Ely hasn't shown that much either, he's still showed more and has way more potential as a former top 15 pick.
This trade was pretty cheap. The Clippers could have gotten more for Ely rather than just a future second-round draft pick. But they wanted to get a deal done quickly in hopes of signing Kobe. Wonder how they feel about it now... Here's how I think the lineup will look next season: PG - Jason Hart SG - Tamar Slay SF - Gerald Wallace PF - Melvin Ely C - Emeka Okafor I'm willing to bet that will be Charlotte's inaugural starting lineup. I'm going by the comments I've read from Bickerstaff about the players. Bickerstaff really likes Hart. ?One thing I really like about the young man is that he really studies the game. He has a good understanding of the defensive concepts, understands the guy that he is guarding and knows who he should get the ball to so as not to compromise his teammates. We like his basketball I.Q.?
This trade was really cheap. The Clippers could have gotten more for Ely rather than just a second-round pick. Although, they had to make the deal quickly in hopes of signing Kobe Bryant to a max contract. I wonder how they feel now that Kobe has chosen the Lakers... Anyway, here's my projected lineup: PG - Jason Hart SG - Tamar Slay SF - Gerald Wallace PF - Melvin Ely C - Emeka Okafor I'm willing to bet that will be Charlotte's inaugural starting lineup. House is better left coming off the bench as he would provide the Bobcats with instant offense from their bench. Plus, Bickerstaff loves Hart's basketball IQ and how much Hart prides himself on defense. With this lineup, however, the Bobcats will be lucky to win 20 games. But it's what's expected. A couple of these guys could have breakout seasons like Wallace and Ely. I'm expecting a huge season from Okafor. I really like that the Bobcats acquired Ely. They now have someone who can match up well alongside Okafor. Ely is also motivated. He's happy to get out of L.A.'s doghouse and he's ready to prove that he wasn't a fluke after being picked No. 12 in the draft 2 years ago. The Bobcats are still pretty far under the cap, so things can still happen. However, I don't expect the Bobcats to sign any big name players. They're sticking to the young, cheap, and anonymous sort of...strategy.
I don't know if I would put OKafor or Woods at centre. Woods is 7'2" but Okafor can sure jump. I like Woods but I would probably put Okafor or do a rotation between the 2. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Are you joking? But how can you say they played great in the summer league there in the team and then turn around and say the summer league doesn't mean a thing. Here's my lineup of possible players: PG:Smush Parker/Eddie House/FA: J.R Bremer SG:Gerald Wallace/Tamar Slay/FA:Jeff Trapegnier SF:Jason Kapono/Bernard Robinson/Theron Smith PF:Melvin Ely/Emeka Okafor/ FA: Marcus Fizer C:Emeka Okafor/Loren Woods/Jahidi White
