<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Magic General Manager John Weisbrod said he's looking hard into bringing Brazilian power forward Anderson Varejao to Orlando. "It's up in the air right now," he said of Varejao's availability for next season. "We're in a little bit of a decision process."

Varejao played in Spain last season for F.C. Barcelona. It is believed he would have to negotiate a buyout of his contract to play in the NBA next season. NBA rules allow the Magic to contribute only $350,000 toward a buyout.

The Magic could offer Varejao, the No. 30 pick in last month's draft, a larger contract to help ease the buyout expense, but the team might not be able to afford that this season. Weisbrod said he is also leery of having two rookie power forwards on the roster. The Magic are committed to grooming No. 1 pick Dwight Howard. Also, Drew Gooden remains on the roster, and Varejao is almost a replica of Gooden.</div>

I say go for it and if you have to, put him on the far end of the bench as an 11th or 12th guy. He might not get much playing time, but just being with the team for a year and playing sparingly will ease his transition a whole lot better than him continuing to play over in Europe where the playing style is totally different. This guy is a project as most international players are, so we should bring him over now and try to ease him in.

That is, if we don't trade him first. I know that there were a number of rumors going around about him being traded.

Right now if the lineup stays the same, then let Kasun play on our team this year and let Varejao play next year. If Gooden gets dealt(which its starting to look likely), then bring him over here to play this year.
