Full Interview <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bulls.com: You enjoyed a considerable rise in your stock in the weeks leading up to NBA Draft 2004. What do you attribute that to? Ben Gordon: ?It basically came down to the individual workouts. They give you an opportunity to make your own destiny. I just came in to every workout with the attitude that I was going to prove to people that I was the best guard available. Especially when I came here, knowing that the Bulls had the third pick, I tried to show them everything I could do and it worked out well for me.? Bulls.com: What comes to mind when you think about your performance in this past season?s Big East tournament, when Emeka Okafor was struggling with a bad back and you scored a record 81 points in three wins? Gordon: ?Wow, it was pretty much the turning point of the season for me. At that point in the season, I had gone through a little slump. I was struggling and I decided that I was putting too much pressure on myself and that I needed to go out there and have fun. Once I did that, I started playing my best basketball. I think that is what it?s about. If you go out there and have and play basketball, everything will take care of itself.?</div>
he seems like a good guy, i can't wait to see him in the upcoming summer league games and the upcoming nba season.
Yea, I think he could be one to watch in Summer League and come regular season. He's got a ton of offensive talent and he was a great shutdown defender in college. So, based on college, it definitely looks like he could be the full package at guard. So, it will definitely be great to see him play come the season. And who knows, if Jamal ends up getting traded, like many think he will, Ben could go and be the starting shooting guard next year for Chicago.
No offense to Jamal fans, but, if he is traded it isn't the end of the world because Gordon plays both offense and defense.
Yea, I agree that it definitely won't be the end of the world cause it seems like it could very well happen. So, to me, there were reasons why they got Ben Gordon, and the possible loss of Jamal Crawford would be it. The only problem I'd find with Gordon starting is it leaves the Chicago backcourt unbelievably short. With Jamal there, at least they had a decently sized shooting guard, as Jamal was around 6'5". But, with a backcourt of Hinrich and Gordon, they're each only about 6'3", so that could cause for some match up problems at the shooting guard spot, especially defensively. But, Ben Gordon is a phenomenal player and I believe he'll make to be a good shooting guard if Jamal is to leave.

We don't know if Gordon can do that in the NBA, i think he will, but we can't assume he can. I like the 3-Guard lineup, and i also like if we can get a good 3pt shooter through free agency, to replace crawford, allowing Gordon to start at the 2 and enabling Deng to come off the bench.
The Bulls really don't need another 3 point shooter. Ben Gordon showed in college he had NBA range as he continually he hit a ton of deep bombs. Kirk Hinrich showed last year that he definitely has the range to hit the long ball. If Crawford does stay, he can easily hit the long ball, as shown last year when he was 5th in the league with 165 3s I believe. The Bulls also have Jannero Pargo, whom is another pretty good 3 point shooter. Than, to top all that off, they did draft Luol Deng, whom in college, was a good shooter from long range. So, I believe that the Bulls are set at shooters even if they lose Jamal. And, you said Luol Deng should come off the bench, I believe it's very likely he'll start. Currently, he's the best small forward on the Bulls roster. Pippen, I believe is going to retire, or at least I heard that. He wasn't at all healthy last year, so, even if he comes back, I still would give Deng the nod. I believe Deng is going to start next year. He's a great player. He gives them good length and height at 6'8". The kid can shoot also. I believe he's going to be contributing next year and starting. To me, he's fully capable to be the full time starting small forward.
