That's what city officials said today.

Jordy Tollett, president of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau said today in a report in the Houston Chronicle that "it's a firm deal."

The story was also reported on Houston television station K-R-I-V, but was not immediately confirmed by the N-B-A.

That link doesn't work. Anyways I just can't stop thinking about the dunk contest. So when that goes down, they should force T-Mac to be in it. At least have 6 competitors and 5 dunks like the 2000 DC. I would like to see

DC contenstants
T-Mac
VC: I believe in miracles choch [IMG]
Lebron
D-Mase
J-Rich: Even though I know he's down, but there still maybe a chance
Kobe

Hopefully there will be some surprising x-factors like Kedrick Brown. Some how he just gets full cordination and is able to use the 46 1/2 inch leap.

Fixed the link.

It's not quite a done deal, and in fact, it's been sort of "almost done" since April. Or earlier, if you consider that Houston has been in the running pretty much since 2002. Boston was the other major city trying to get the All-Star game in 2006.

The Nba isnt gonna change the rising stars dunk contest which uses players in their first 3 years. so don't everyone get exited about Mason, Jrich or Vc or anyone over 3 years to be in it. It's gonna be a dunk contest no better than last year likely.

I don't really expect them to be back. But they broke that rule this past year with Ricky Davis. I mean he only was in his 6th year. So they kinda changed it then, might as well get rid of the stupid rule.

Ricky Davis isn't in the leauge of Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, etc.

From the sounds of it, they will not change the rules. Which means the elite players in the leauge will miss out once again.

It would be better for the league if they allowed the Tracy McGrady's and such to participate in it, but theres always the risk of injury, embarrassment, etc.

Um, who has ever been injured doing a dunk contest? Especially in the nba, they won't even allow them to jump over a ball raq.

BTW I can't remember if I commented on your sig already ICE, but what kinda bet involves a dope azz sig. That's an automatic [IMG]

Players who have won the contest in the past can participate too, so don't count out Kobe, VC, Richardson, etc.
