nice pickups for New Orleans...these moves help their bench depth considerably. Anderson is a quality backup with loads of athleticism and energy and Peterson is a nice shooter who can be instant offense off the bench and take away some heavy minutes off of David Wesley.
Everyone's overpaying this off season, I don't see what Mo Pete has proven in this League, other than that he's inconsistant and has a good perimeter D to get 3 years 15 Million.
I think those are great pickups...Anderson gives them a bit more size and depth...they are already a great defensive squad, Anderson might put them near the elite... but also the signing of Mo Peterson could be a sign of no-confidence on Courtney Alexander and his return
Good signings, really good signings in fact. Mo Pete is really good but his consistency worries me. And David Wesley plays SG right? So Mo is probably going to play more SF because from what I know JR Smith is a SG. Correct me on this stuff if I'm wrong.
I don't see J.R. getting the starting nod over Wesley next season. After all, J.R. is just coming out of high school. Wesley will remain the starter unless he plays really bad and J.R. plays really good. I can see Mo Pete taking over for Jamal Mashburn, unless the Hornets can somehow pull off a trade with Mash. I hear Szczerbiak is on the trade block... Anyway, it sounds like Mash doesn't want any part of the Hornets organization anymore. The last I heard about the Mash situation was that he hasn't returned Coach Scott's call. I like what the Hornets are doing this offseason. They are getting guys with energy, guys who can run up and down the floor. J.R. Smith was a great pick up in the draft, and signing Mo Pete and Andersen really has boosted New Orleans' depth.

Just to give you a preview, here's how the Points is gonna look for Mo' game to game as a starter 15 3 7 9 11 2 5 6 13 7 12 something like that..

Mid Way through the season, if Mash still is not playing, I would like to see this Starting 5: PG: Baron Davis SG: Morris Peterson SF: J.R. Smith PF: P.J. Brown C: Jamaal Magloire

They are hoping J.R. develops into a star which would give them a pretty good and entertaining backcourt in J.R. and B. Diddy. That's the reason they drafted him. Plus, with J.R. being a shooter and possessing good ball-handling skills, I think the SG position would fit him better. Not to mention that he would be a bit undersized to play SF at 6'6".
JR's ball handling skills are actually on of his bad things, not NBA level at the moment, and he has range but is pretty inconsistent on his shot, he needs work, I think for now it will be: SG - Wesley SF - Mo-Pete
Signing these two players does make the Hornets better, but it would be ridiculous to think they could even make the playoffs with two oft-injured stars, and an undersized backcourt. Jamal Magloire would not be very effective too, being in the same division as Yao, Duncan, Dirk and Gasol.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jamal Magloire would not be very effective too, being in the same division as Yao, Duncan, Dirk and Gasol.</div> Don't underestimate Jamaal. You are forgetting that he was an All-Star last season and posted pretty impressive numbers in the ASG. If the East would have won, he would have most likely been MVP. He showed everyone that he can compete with the big men in the West. Every season Magloire has gotten better and he can only continue to do so since he's still young. By the way, you must be joking about Dirk and Gasol slowing down Magloire. Do you honestly believe that?
i think we'll ha ve this line-up BD/da/ shamwill Wesley(even though hes one of my fav. players i hope we trade him)/jr/pickett Mash(if he plays)/~Mopete(he'll be forced to play sf because of the mash problem-he'll start if mash doest play) PJ/West/*Traylor(i think we'll resign him) Jmag/Andersen(what a wacky guy *traylor he'll platy C too ~mopete if not matched by toronto(might see some action @ sg)

If Mo Pete comes off the bench for both the 2 and 3, I think he can be pretty effective. It's a good role for him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">What were George Lnych and The Plastic Man doing?</div> That guy probably just forgot about Lynch. Augmon is a FA and is apparently in dissucussions with the Orlando Magic.

Every team in the division besides New Orleans and maybe Houston revolve around a big man. Magloire is very inconsistent right now and he has to work to get more of a jump shot and hook shots instead of dunking, because he will never do that with Duncan or Yao guarding him. The West already has its share of rugged defenders and physical big men, but Magloire is not good enough yet to be one of them. He has to get more of a finesse game to succeed.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">What were George Lnych and The Plastic Man doing?</div> well lynch and augmon at their age don't have the lateral quicks to guard the likes of tmac and kobe anymore. plus, both can be a offensive hinderance at times. thats why mo pete will be a great addition to the hornet team.
