I touched on this a little in the Starting 5 thread, but, I want to know you guys' opinion on him. I've read a lot of negative thoughts on him, but, negative or otherwise, I'd like to hear it. I pretty much stated my thoughts on it already. I believe he can still be a good player. He was developing fairly nicely between his rookie year and 2nd year, and than that all came to a halt last year when he got injured and missed most of the year. I think, had he not been injured consistently last year, it's very likely he could have put up around 12/9 numbers. So, I believe he can still be good. He's 7'1", and that's taller than most everyone in the East. If he could put on about another 15-25 lbs, put him up around 250-260, I think he could be a good inside prescence. He also however, does need to work on foot work a little bit and needs to work on his ball control ability. The final thing, he should be able to be a shot blocking guy if he were to be a little more aggressive defensively. But, I still believe he can be good. Let's here some other thoughts on him, get a nice discussion going.

Well I have liked Chandler from that start he has great height and great speed for a man his height he just needs to steadly improve his offensive game and his wieght not fat but muscle I think there is a great chance for him to improve seeing how all the big men from the east feel like going to the west and no big man from the west other then shaq is coming to the east so he less talent to play against then the past seasons an the foward season so his confidence will be sky high.

I like him, he's always hustling and trying his hardest. You are right Moo, he does need work on his ball controll and on his footwork. Had he not been injured he would have been most improved player of the year last year.

Yeah I agree with you three guys, Tyson is a hustler, he puts out a lot of effort when he's on the court. Tyson was putting up monster numbers before he was injured. He's going to have a great career, I actually like Tyson better then Eddy when they were drafted, but there was no way he was better then Brand. Eddy has put up better numbers then Chandler so far. I think Tyson will be an all-star before he retires, the Bulls in a few years will be a contendor with Chandler, Curry, Hinrich, Crawford, Deng, Gordon. They just need time..

He's oozing with potential and talent, and has a great work ethic. I've heard that he finally got the hitch out of his shot, so his shooting has improved. He can definitely rebound, which has been displayed early in the season, and his size will help us greatly in the small east. Our post players could be some of the best in the Eastern Conference, so that'll definitely help us play with the contenders. He deserves the starting job at the 4 IMO, while AD still gets decent minutes behind Tyson.

I like the guy. Still think he has the talent to be a good player. If he can get around 14, and 9.5 next year, that'll be a big improvement. He actually works hard, and gives effort, unlike Eddy Curry, who plays without will, effort or passion.

I think the guys alright but Im not gonna go on and say he's an allstar in the making, he's good he can be a solid player and I hope he's gotten that hitch out of his shot... If he can play like Banks said he could be on his way back..

whats the status of his back? he's too young to be have an arthritic back, i'm sure that has hurt his trade value substantially

I dunno, I think the Bulls would rather have Elton Brand back.

Well at this point in time, thats probably the most obvious thing ever. I wouldn't give up on Chandler though, he has potential, its too bad he had the back injury/problem. Hopefully he can get a full season this year and start fulfilling his potential and show what he can do. I think he'll be able to, and I believe he should be given the chance to start, atleast at the start of the season. If he fails or does not play up to par, then don't start him.

Here is the truth Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry have had 3 yrs to show potential but honestly who cares anymore they have shown hints of star status but then they go hints of bust status they are 2 players that need to be playin in the summer league they need to get the bulls to the playoffs this yr cause this yr there is literally no excuses they got the small forwad they needed in luol deng they have the great point guard in kirk hinrich and they got 2 guys ben gordon and jamal crawford and we all kno there nice so there is no pressure on tryson chandler to be a superstar let chander get 16 pts. 8rebs. and 1.5 blocks and tyson will be strait.

I think the bulls have no choice, but to wait on chandler to develope. I like him he has a good atitude on the court. They cant even think about giving up on him they traded elton brand for him. They new they were getting a guy who would take time to develope when they got him. So I see him making big strides in the 04-05 year and being a big part of a bulls possible playoff run.

I think that all that held Tyson back last year was his injuries. Otherwise, I think that he would have averaged double digit points. As for Eddy Curry, he impressed me this year and I think that he is going to be something special. I have high hopes for the Bulls this season, after this year's draft, it appears that they have all of the pieces necessary to make the playoffs.
