You wanna hear about Kobe? Kobe has never done anything. He helped Shaq get 3 championships. He has not accoplished much of anything on his own, except personal accomplishemnts such as all-stars and defensive teams. Besides that he has generally not been good for the past Lakers team, being considered a ball-hog, and having a bad attitude(such as his fighting with Shaq) Recently, in the last championship, when the team needed Kobe the most, he failed splendidly. In that situation he either completely gave up , or isn't as good as he is made out to be. That's a small bit, but I wont stop there because you wnat to compare him to Garnett. So ok, Garnett is an all-star,was recently awarded MVP(and countless other awards) If you want to compre in the fact that KG has never been to a chmpionship even look at it: Garnett has come up and led his team past the first-round playoffs, making franchise and team history, and has brought them to be one of the best teams in the league Kobe is made out to be the bets in the world when he is really only average with some good times. Now garnett, he really is the best,and doesn't even get as much credit as Bryant. As for the guy who originally posted if you wouold have said it was a joke originally we could have had a laugh but i took it seriously because there are plenty of people on here that are dumb enough to say that.
i never said KG wasnt a great player did i? neither was i comparing him to Kobe im just sayoing that u were implying that kobe is "average" with no backup therfore i used KG as an example becuz u were bashing a player who won 3 championships and saying he is overrated Pippen also "HELPED" the Bulls win 6 championships, hes also an average player? That pretty much sums up my post. And no one doubts KG is the best player in the league (arguebly). He & duncan are considered the best overall players by almost everyone in the league, including me. Saying Kobe is only average is truly one of the more ignorant commments i have heard. Average= Fred Hoiberg (im not hatin on him, i love the dude's shooting but hes just an average player)
As much as I hate to say it, you can't really say that Kobe is overrated. He's got 3 rings. Your thinking, well Shaq was the main reason. Kobe is a very talented player. Also, who can take over a game better than him? I know KG and Pierce dominate in the 4th quarters of games, but Kobe can take over a game like nobody else. The guy has also won an MVP award for the All-Star game, that's got to tell you something too. And, he's been on NBA First Team a couple times if i'm not mistaken. I'm a T-Wolves fan, believe me, I'll be the first one to admit, I don't like Kobe at all, but saying he is overrated is wrong. I think the Lakers fans love Kobe so much, they over emphasize the fact that he's good.

We will just have to see this year. If the Lakers can do decent without Shaq and Kobe can improve his numbers by maybe 15-30% then I'll say that he is not overrated.

This Thread is just stupid and not worth debating. Kobe is a selfish arrogant immature player who will do nothing for the rest of his career, and Shaq is old. KG is the best player in the NBA.
