What are the players the C's can still go after? Divac, Ostertag, Stro Swift are out there. Thomas is talking to the Bucs, any word on what the Celtics are doing or should do. Also, what are some of the trade rumors, Atkins fr EWill, but is there any involving Davis? Whats going down??!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Thomas is talking to the Bucs,</div> FYI: I'm pretty sure that Etan Thomas has already signed an offer sheet with the Bucks, so any chance of getting him is probably gone. I can't imagine a reason to do the Atkins for Ewill trade either, although it's getting some press.
Divac and Tag are gone and I don't Ainge can find a way to sign Swift. If he does make any sort of deal or anything I think he'll give up one of the guard/forwards not including Jiri, Pierce, and Allen and someone like Raef or Mihm.
Wow, that list is depressing. Stro isn't going anywhere, according to that quote from West. Dampiers contract year explosions disturb me. I'm no longer interested in acquiring him. Averages only 6 per every other year but his contract years and then goes off for 8+ and 12? Call me Kooky, but something ain't quite right about that. Miles is a waste of money unless the promise he showed in the second half to last season continues on. Karl Malone is sadly the best player on that list, if it weren't for his age, I'd say go after him. Mihm's potential is looking nice right now. He needs stability and structure and I think he'll get it this season, if he stays here. He's looking like our best option right now, unless a trade not involving any of those guys happens.
IMO, The Celtics should be patient right now. Subtraction is the order of the day, i.e. finding someone willing to take a chance on Ricky Davis. Kevin McHale, are you listening? The Celtics need the stability that only comes with a training camp together, and a few months for the players to earn playing time on the court, rather than in the forums.

Ainge needs to trade awy some of the pieces to free up playing time. But I don't think Davis one of the players that needs to be traded. Davis is the teams best on ball defender and second best scorer, I would rather trade Jiri or Allen then Davis.
