<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With $2.3 million remaining to spend on free agents, the Nuggets have made Hassell the top priority as they try to land a versatile swingman who can add depth to the backcourt.

"There is no Plan B," one Denver official said Sunday, perhaps only half joking.

Hassell is a restricted free agent, meaning Minnesota can match any contract offer he receives.

In addition to the Timberwolves and Nuggets, Hassell is drawing interest from the Portland Trail Blazers.

"It changes day to day," his agent, Mark Bartelstein, said. "There's a lot of people that would like to get him. In terms of what's going to happen, it's hard to say.

"The Nuggets are a terrific team. I think he'd be a great fit with them in a lot of ways."</div>

The "no Plan B" comment worries me a little since I thought Vandeweghe had the intention of going for Joe Johnson as well, who I'd actually take over Hassell.

I dont think the nuggets will get hassel. They cant offer him a starting spot nor a title contending team at this point. While the twolves can. The twolves can also offer him more releave on the offensive end then the nuggets with KG, Spree, cassel, and wally while in denver his defense would have to improve.

I don't think the Nuggets will be able to get him either, because Hassell is a restricted free agent, and the most they can offer him is 2.4 million, which the Wolves would match in a second. If they don't offer him the full MLE, then the Wolves will be sure to match.

Eh, well I at least hope we sign him. But honestly I don't think Hassell will be grabbed by the Nuggets. I think Hassell would be better off staying here. He would be coming off of the bench behind Carmelo or Voshon Leonard, both do a lot for the Nuggets, so playing time will decrease for Hassell. Besides Portland and the Nuggets being interested in Hassell, I've also heard that the Sonics are as well. They were interested in both Hudson and Hassell, but of course, we now resigned Hudson.

Well now its down to either going to the blazers for 16 mill 4 years or if the wolves match the offer going to the wolves for that amounts of money. The nuggets are basically out of the running if thats the only amount of money they can offer trenton. Im glad to because we will probable match portlands offer if the nuggets had signed hassel they would have incredable depth.

By NBA rules, Minnesota could match any offer sheet Hassell receives up to $4.903 million and will continue to wait, then evaluate whether any offers less than that are worth matching.

Trading hassel for a below average big man is a bad move. We already have enough of those we dont need another. Do we really want to help the nuggets who already have arguable the deepest team out west get deeper and they are in our division we cant forget that.

Notice what the article says. The T'Wolves' division rivals want the T'Wolves to sign Hassell, then trade him to them for Skita & McFlip essentially told them they'd rather get bit by rattlesnakes than help a division rival improve. If they free the capspace to sign him, then McFlip is outta luck. If not, we'll keep Trenton.

Kiki can stomp his feet, throw temper tantrum after temper tantrum & hold his breath till he's purple in his face & it won't change McFlip's mind on doing that S & T.

Not really he hasent even signed there offer sheet yet. When he does the wolves will match it right away if they are smart so he is staying in minnesota no worries about that right now. The GM already said we dont have a plan B so he has to match the offer.

im wondering if hassell will still be a starter next year in minnesota... he was fortunate last year to have wally go down w/ an injury, which helped promote him to a starter... but if wally comes back 100%, i think there will be a bit of controversy as to who is the starter... i love hassell and love his defense, and i would personally prefer that he start, but wally is a former all-star who can shoot with the best of them.

I think Wally will be 100% come the start of training camp but I'd be hesitant to think that that's a guarantee after these past 2 yrs. I just hope he's healthy & that he & Trenton have some great battles in training camp over who starts.

    Latest update on Hassell

Portland have offered him a 4 year, 16 million contract but he is wanting more. Infact he has demanded the full MLE, which is 37 million over 6 years. So thats why It is taking so long for any deal for Hassell to go through, Denver are still very interested in his services and are talking with Hassell's agent everyday. Denver have been asking the Wolves for a sign and trade but so far they aren't interested in what Denver have offered.

So It might be a while before any more news comes through, unless Hassell decides to just take Portland first offer.

The full mill damn thats a little to much. He is a good defender, but unless he improves his offense I dont think he is worth that price. He will probable drop the price since the blazers probable wont go that high, neither will the wolves, and denver has no one that intrests us in a sign and trade that they would actually be willing to trade.

Bowen offered to do that <font color="DarkSlateBlue">only </font> to help them sign Ginobilli. In exchange, he gets a couple more years guaranteed.
