<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NBA coaches often say statistics don't truly define what a player brings to a team. That theory rings true with the newest Nugget, all-star forward Kenyon Martin. Martin averaged 16.7 points and 9.5 rebounds last season with the New Jersey Nets, but he also was a leader on - and off - the court. Before big regular-season games and playoff contests, Martin had a pat routine. After introductions, he would tear the top sheet off a sticky mat, hand it to an official at the scorer's table and wipe his Reeboks on the mat. He had a section of fans behind the scorer's table that would go wild after he acknowledged them. Next, he would wave his hands to get the crowd up and cheering. And if the fans weren't screaming up to his expectations, he would jump into a Hulk Hogan pose and cup his hand by his ear and encourage the fans to get louder. If they met his approval, Martin let loose with a scream of appreciation. While the Nuggets were an exciting team last season, they weren't a particularly enthusiastic group. During games, players on the bench often sat still and displayed little emotion even when things were going well. In the locker room, Martin also takes charge.</div> Full Story
You Denver fans are going to have so much fun watching this guy. He is probably in the top 5 most exciting players in the NBA to watch with his tenacity on the court. He throws down dunks as if he is mad at the rim. He also isn't afraid of anyone on the court, so get yourself ready to watch him unload on his opponents.
Kenyon Martin is the man, he serves up facials like its christmas and he's Santa Claus. KMart is really really great, he is going to bring so much to the Denver Nuggets. Denver will be a top team once again, now only if I could say the same for atlanta...
WOO, FLIP PRIDE REPRESENT! but yeah, i hate that martin is a nugget now.. sucks so bad.. i honestly thought he would stay, because it looked like he loved the fans of NJ, and loved playing with Jason Kidd
The Nets are my 2nd favorite team, so right now i am deeply dissapointed about what they lost. However, I also support the Nuggets, so i'm excited at the same time. He's gonna help Denver out with the low post defense, offense, he gives them yet another option on the fast break, and he's an emotional leader on the floor.
Denver is one of my fave teams as well coz I love teams that run the break. So all's not the end for me. But I'd preferred that he stayed in NJ. It was never his decision to leave. It was the Nets management who decided to go the separate way. He'll be sure to be in everyone's faces, including his teammates. You can't play soft when he's your teammate. He'll gladly take the leadership role.
What Martin Brings: Everything. This guy brings it all on a nightly basis, and plays with raw emotions. He takes control in the locker room, and has turned into a positive leader. The Nuggets could be a scary team next year, and the duo of Melo & Martin is very exciting. Now to mention the frontcourt of Nene, Martin, Camby. Very impressive I'm looking foward to next season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Now to mention the frontcourt of Nene, Martin, Camby. Very impressive</div> Very, very impressive. That fast break is going to be great, the Nuggets are an even faster team with the addition of Martin and they've got a great shot at going fairly deep into the playoffs. About Martin, he will bring intensity every game, but thats a give in since most people have seen him during his days with the Nets. This Nuggets team is fast and deep, they'll have Voshon Lenard, Earl Boykins, Nene and Nicolz Tskitishvili (showing some brightness in summer league) coming off the bench. What a difference two years can make for a franchise.

I like Martin, but I always thought he was somewhat overrated...I think the best he can give u is 17-19 ppg/ 8 rpg...hes invaluable on the defensive end, but offensively, aside from dunks and little shots within 10 ft, he hasnt shown much...his jump shot has improved, but he needs a more complete offensive arsenal before he becomes a legit superstar in which to build a franchise around...him and Anthony are gonna be killa tho...
i think the nuggets are gunna b the most exiting team next year. i was so happy when they got him.i think him and anthony are the nxt jordan and pippen at diffrent postions lol

Kenyon some how reminds me of Rasheed in a way. They're both big mouths and true leaders who order their teammates around and arn't afarid to take charge. He lifts the spirits up of his teammates and the crowd. When ever he played in New JErsey he did that thing when you put your hands in the air and the whole crowd did it. IT really mostivated the Nets. I still am curious to see how he will perform with out Jason Kidd though.
