Here's reason No. 612 why the Eagles will win the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1980 season.

Over the past 16 seasons, the winner of the NFC has been ranked in the top 10 in the league in total defense. Of the six NFC playoff teams, only the Eagles fit that criteria, as the 10th ranked defense in the league.

In order, the other five NFC playoff teams rank in overall defense as follows - Atlanta (14th), St. Louis (17th) Green Bay (25th), Seattle (26th) and Minnesota (28th).

So pack your bags for Jacksonville.

    McNabb choke? No way!

I agree completely, they wont win the SB. The Eagles wont even get to the SB, ok NFC conference game, possiblility..but further than that no they'll choke in that game IF they make it that far of course.

However if they dont choke then end up winning the SB and I'm wrong as well as many others, oh shit we will never hear the end of it from the Eagles fans, taking a big risk saying this stuff but it has to be said.

Mcnabb chokes every year or fakes some injury to make an excuse for his chokiness.

Oh I agree McNabb chokes every year, its more than just coincidence after you've lost the NFC title as many times as they have.

Donovan McNabb is a quality QB. I would take him in a heartbeat. I would think that Bears fans would like to have him too all things considered. Of all the things keeping the Eagles from winning a Super Bowl, McNabb is not one of them.

In your situation you would take about anyone. I like grossman, and would like to give him a chance before i would take Mcnabb, now if manning or brady were up for grabs

Sure, but how many years have we had such a horrible NFC? Its easy to be ranked 10th when the teams you play suck.

Gentlemen (and ladies, if you are out there reading this), we are seeing right now why the NFL is the greatest professional sports league. Even with the obvious disparity in talent between the AFC and NFC, on any given Sunday you cannot predict with accuracy who is going to win. The Eagle's have to be the favorites right now, but I don't think anyone would be surprised to see them get beat in the NFC championship game or even before that.

When the Rams played the Patriots in the super bowl a few years ago, i find it hard to believe that team had a top 10 defense. I am not sure but i am going to check

Oh yes, I forgot how well Manning did in the AFC championship last year. 208 passing yards, 4 INT's, less than 50% completion, amazing statistics. Oh but McNabb is the only QB who chokes, Peyton is so great he'd never do a thing like that...oh wait he did it last year

Manning cant be NE. I accept that as a weakness. Mcnabb has choked vs 3 different teams. Manning = Choke vs NE(not a problem for a bears QB) Mcnabb = Choke vs everyone.

Oh good point, and since Manning has been in less conference championships than McNabb I forgot that's a sign of a good quarterback. At least McNabb can get his team (without a WR anywhere close to Marvin Harrison or Brandon Stokely the past three years) to a conference championship. But yes, Manning is still better in the offseason. I forgot how well he does in playoff games (sarcasm is a great thing isn't it?)

Yeah, and forgot that Indy's "team" was as balanced as Phillys was all those years, the only difference between the two teams was the QB positoin and WR, Defense meant nothing. Yes Indy Defense gave up 10 more points per game, and manning HAD to do more. Yes the WR never did anything without manning, so it must be the recievers, Yep it is all about how much better Mcnabb is, that is why he has won 4 whole playoff games in his career(WOW) 4 playoff games is impressive, hold on i will get HOF in canton on the line. Manning has won 2 playoff games. Not good either, but here is the bottom line, Manning 4000 yards every year, makes his own offensive calls, and is breaking records every time he steps on field, no super bowls. Mcnabb, average passer who never broke 4000 yards in entire career, no super bowls. So i can have either player, one is a super succesful passer, one isnt and NEITHER ONE HAS WON ANYTHING IN POSTSEASON, i think the choice is obvious

I wasn't trying to compare their stats in the season BF, I was simply saying what you said at the end, neither accomplished anything in the postseason. Theirs alot of talk about how great Manning is (don't get me wrong he did some amazing things this year) but he still isn't impressive in the post season.
